FINAL TASK
Student: Luciana Mokuy Abeso Nkara

Group: 2023-11

Unit: Proofreading and Self-Editing

File Name: 2023-11LMokuy_PRSE

I believe this definition has got some of the most important reasons that would motivate
someone to learn a foreign language, being english the one spoken about in this case. Based on
my own experienece as someone having spanish as mother tangue, I for sure agree with the
above stated definition because learning english hasn´t been just an extra tool for my personal
and profesional living, but it has also given me the skills and the confidence to improve myself
in instrumental or integrative areas. As time passes, several people are taking into considation
the importance of learning foreign languages since it is considered as a gateway to more
oportunities or success. (APA font and style not being followed)

To learn a foreign language or acquire a new skill, motivation is the key tool to succed; because
motivation is a basic and essential part of learning. apart from the previously mentioned
motivation types, we also have intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.

It is said that when you are intrinsically motivated, you will definitely enjoy the activity you are
involve in and get personal satisfaction from it. When motivated extrinsically, you simply
perform a task with purpose of gaining external rewards or to avoid punishment. this type of
motivation does not focuse on personal satisfaction or necessarely because the individual finds
appealing the activity he/she is involved in.

For example:

Participating in a song contest because you love to sing, it helps you relieve stress or you feel
powerfull while on stage, it is considered intrinsic motivation because you have chosen this
activity for fun, enjoyment or personal satisfaction.

Participating in a song contest beacuse you need the money offered as the prize. this is
considred as extrinsic motivation because you don´t really enjoy this activity but you´re fosued
on the external reward. (Academic Language required)

When it comes to learning a new language, there are always some discrepancies between
the choices, the encouragement and the paths you take in order to archieve your goal
(missing punctuation mark) which is to learn a new language. at times, some people take
the decision to learn a new language just because they are pressured by society and they
feel the need to meet its standards. The authors also discuss the various factors involved
in extrinsic and intrinsic motivation (missing punctuation mark) stating what really
motivates an individual. sometiemes when job hunting, you might feel the presure of
learning another language or simply learning a new language becuase you deeply love
turism and beeing able to comunicate with people from a different culture is important for
you. we´ve got another theories of motivation which underline the various differences
when it comes to the given value to an activity and the success of when having achieved
that particular goal.

Motivation could be presented as the key aspect to fail or succed in language learning, the
determination you have and the autonomy to focuse will definitely lead you to make the
best out of the learning expirience.

When reading the above presented passage (missing punctuation mark) we could find
some similarities with the definitions and view points presented in point number 1,
therefore I could simply say that the different authors here agree with the previously
stated definition of motivations and the factors involved in leaning a new language.

similarities such as the types of motivations which are; instrumental (wrong choice of
punctuation mark). integrative, extrinsic and intrinsic (missing punctuation mark)
motivation. It is believed that (introduce the sentence directly to avoid using unnecessary
words) no matter what you want to achieve, personal or profesional aspect, if you are not
motivated, you will have a high percentage to fail the stated goal. sometimes your goal
might not really make you happy (missing punctuation mark) which is the case of
extrinsic motivation, but it can still help you reach your goal. you might learn english,
french or spanish simply beacause you want to relocate to a new country for greener past
though you don´t really like the new language. Here we can also learn the importance of
motivating your students to make the best out of their learning experience.

Aart from using the motioned types of motivation (missing punctuation mark) I believe
we still need to get closer to the students, learn to know the them and identify the types of
motivation is (wrong verb conjugation) suitable for each of them and will make learning
experience eassy for both teachers and students. (APA font and style not being followed)

Before we jump into the importance of motivation. we should know what motivation really is.
On its own, it is a very broad and complex word, it is which gives behaviour strength, purpose
and sustainability. It is more complicated as just being motivated or unmotivated.

The correct motivation is dynamic and multy-angled impacting on factors relating or not to the
educational environment of the classroom.

According to various studies, motivation is one of the most important aspects when it comes to
learning a new language becuase it has a lot to do more than just the environment, the tools or
materials used (missing punctuation mark) but it has a lot more to do with the type of
motivation that the student has towards the goal. It is very important because it serves as kind of
a remainder as to why the particular individual has decided to learn a foreign language. It helps
with the learning giving the tools to start language learning experience.

Motivation is one of the most important aspects of success and failure in foreign language
learning because it enables both the students and the teachers successfuly reach their goal, as the
world is constantly evolving and we want to make the best out of every situation, it is important
as well becuase it helps us to get the required tools to use in the diffent scenarios that we might
meet in this academic process.

I could start saying that my biggest motivation for enrolling in this program starts with
intrinsic motivation, because of the love and passion I have for the english language, and
of course I have instrumental and integrative motivation because I believe that this
programm has the required tools to enhance my english skills and competences to help
me bust the teaching career that I inted to pursue.

As I mentioned earlier, I have desired to teach people who are interested in learning
english making sure that they are motivated enough and being able to provide them with
the required tools, though we might have the challenges of living in a spanish speaking
country it would not be of course imposible to learn.

I could contribute to the program by making the best out of this learning experience that
I am about to have, by being punctual and working hard to be a student to remember in
this upcomming academic course.

From this program (missing punctuation mark) I expect nothing but excelency, quality, I
expect to grow not only in academic and professional aspects but personal as well. by
the end of this programm my grammar, writting, speaking (missing punctuation mark)
and listening skills will be way over the top. I can´t wait to start this new chapter of my
life. (APA font and style not being followed)
