Start Menu
• The Microsoft Windows Start menu is the primary
location in Windows to locate your installed programs
and find any files or folders. By default, the Start menu
is accessed by clicking start in the bottom-left corner of
the Windows desktop screen. The picture shows an
example of the Windows 7 Start menu.
Cortona
• Microsoft's Cortana is a cloud-based personal assistant that operates
outside the realm of standard voice-enabled AI.
• Cortana doesn't just understand voice commands and carry out tasks
but is integrated for use across Microsoft's 365 suite of products and
all Windows 10 operating systems, version 2004 and later.
Xbox
• The Xbox app for Windows is where you can go to play and
manage PC gaming content on your Windows device. Whether
you’re an Xbox Game Pass or a PC Game Pass member, or
you’ve bought titles from the Microsoft Store, your games await
in the app.
Universal apps
• When the iPad was originally released, many developers released HD
versions of their iPhone apps to support the bigger screen on the
iPad, but these days, most apps that are released on the app store are
Universal apps that work on both the iPad and the iPhone.
• A universal app runs on all versions of iOS, including the iPad and the
iPhone. While the iPad runs most iPhone apps in compatibility mode,
universal apps are specifically designed to deal with the varying
screen sizes between the iPhone and the iPad.
