Your New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) has been issued.
You are now authorised to travel to New Zealand on a cruise or cargo ship. If you are flying to New Zealand
to join your cruise or cargo ship, you must apply for a visitor visa before you travel.
This NZeTA also authorises you to pass through Auckland International Airport as a transit passenger on
the way to or from Australia.
When you travel to New Zealand, you must check in with the passport listed here.
When arriving in New Zealand, you must declare any biosecurity risk items.
Now your NZeTA has been issued, what next?
Check that the details in this notification (including your given, middle and family names) exactly match
your passport details. If they do not match, or your details change, you will not be allowed to travel to New
Zealand using this NZeTA. You can use our online form to correct some details, otherwise you must request
a new NZeTA.
Before you travel to New Zealand check that you meet all other requirements. This may include evidence
of your onward travel arrangements, ie either:
A return ticket to your home country or
An outward ticket to a destination that you have the right to enter. You must have the appropriate visa or
travel authority for that country, and be entitled to enter that country on a one way ticket.
You must have sufficient funds for your stay and you are strongly recommended to hold travel insurance.
You must ensure that your passport expiry date complies with the rules about how long it must be valid for
at the time of travel.
As a cruise or cargo ship passenger you will be deemed to hold a visitor visa for up to 28 days when you
arrive at your first New Zealand port.
Note that if you are intending to use this NZeTA to transit New Zealand, Auckland International Airport is
the only airport with transit facilities. You cannot transit via any other airport in New Zealand.
