Bullying

Why is bullying consider as normal these days?

Society took bullying as something that is common and needed in matter to build
someone “character”. Bullying is an aggressive behavior among school aged children that
involves power imbalance and also the use of force to tease or even threat and just simply abuse
the victim just for the perpetrator own satisfaction.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am Shabrina Putri Salwa from Dharmawangsa senior high
school. Genuinely, I find it ridiculous on how almost every teenagers have experience some kind
of bullying and yet no one is taking them seriously except when something goes horribly wrong
and they’ve realized that it were aready too late. Throughout the year, bullying has been one of
the factor for why Education in Indonesia can’t keep up with other countries that have better
education system where bullies are not tolerated.

Ladies and gentlemen, the victim of bullying may give up their dreams and develop bad
behavior that’ll potentially ruin their future, but neither the school nor the people around them
care about it. Everyone just pretend that nothing happen, and when a big case emerges, our
society proceed by continue bullying by the perpetrator. That’s how the cycle of never-ending
bullying happens in our society. Sadly, a few victim of bullying have to be hospitalized and even
suffer physical disabilities due to the physical bullying they had experience.

Ladies and gentleman if you think bullying is only about physical abuse that is your big
problem. Mocking, ridiculing, slandering, addressing abusive in a sustained or repeatedly, it is a
verbal bullying. People say that is just joking and playing around but it is not. It's not just what
you tell what you say to them but how big an effect does the victim feel after you give it to them.
A little joke that can change someone life.

Ladies and gentlement I had experienced verbal bullying when I was in junior high
school. Maybe you guys think that didn't have a big impact on me, but mostly it had an Impact
on my life. They made fun of me, mocking me, and even slandered me. I become quieter at
school and home until i felt lazy to go to school. The prepetrators used to be my friends but for
no reason they bullied me, from just one to several of them. Then what were my dassmates doing
in that time? Yes, they strengthened me from behind. But, what's the point of at all? I still getting
mock. And because they were all silent never speak up about it. When I told my teacher she just
said, they were just joking with me, and I was the one who took it seriously, of course it was not
only a joke for me. Until I had to move from school. So, what happened to the praperators after
that? Nothing, they just doing daily activies, while I need time to recover and adapt to the new
environment while worring that something similar will happen again.

Ladies and gentlemen I believe that my experienced is not comparable to many cases of
bullying that occur in society, that the victim out there have to bear mental, and physical burdens,
heavy trauma, even death due the bullying they had experience. However, no matter how small
the impact of bullying, it must be avoided. As members of society we need to know how to
prevent bullying :
1. Get education about bullying, empathy, and how to respect others.
2. Built our own confidence
3. Stay open up and call for help when you need it
4. Sensitive to the surrounding environment.

Therefore ladies and gentlemen, bullying is not a problem that can be fixed in one day, It's
more like a parasite that's super ford to get rid of, and only with patient and diligence, we could
prevent it. No one deserved to get bullied and bully doesn't bring any good so we need l to
prevent it. However of bullying is still consider normal in our nation we're bound to fail in
creating a better future generation. That's all, I really hope this speech can spread awareness and
help us also bring good onto our society, thank you very much.
