Dear Sir/Madam,
You are aware of the efforts taken by the Government of India to become
a USD 5 trillion economy within the next few years, The Maritime Sector is an
important sector with high growth potential. The key initiatives of the Ministry
of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, viz., Sagarmala and MIV 2030, are to lead
port-led development and generate jobs for Indian youth in the near future.
MIV 2030 specifically aims to achieve more than 20olo share of Indian seafarers
in the global market.
The renewed thrust of the Government being given to make India regain the
top position in Ship Building, Ship Repair and Ship Recycling is going to create
unprecedented demand of skilled workforce in these sectors. The Green Tug
Transition Programme, Harit Nauka Green Transition Programme for Inland
Vessels, Development of Green Hydrogen Hubs in Major Ports, Cruise Bharat
Mission, Maritime Development Fund, River Cruise Policy, Lighthouse Tourism
Initiatives, MIV 2030 and MAKV 2047 are radical policy initiatives which will
usher in fast-paced and sustainable growth and consequent job creation in
diverse sectors of maritime industry.
