TCS Engineering Fresher Hiring for the graduating batch of 2025

TCS NQT follows an Integrated Test Pattern for entry level hiring at TCS. Based on the test

performance, candidates will qualify for any one of the following hiring categories:

• Prime

• Digital

• Ninja

However, the final offer category is decided based on the candidate’s overall performance

in the selection process.

TCS NQT is open exclusively for the following academic qualifications in any specialization

offered by AICTE / UGC recognized Universities / colleges for the graduating batch of 2025:

• Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)

• Bachelor of Engineering (B.E)

• Master of Technology (M.Tech)

• Master of Engineering (M.E)

• Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A)

• Master of Science (M.Sc / M.S)


Application Process:
Step 1. Log in to the TCS NextStep Portal

Step 2. Register and Apply for the Drive

• Scenario A: If you are already a registered user under TCS NextStep Portal, 'IT’

category, kindly log in with your TCS Reference ID (CT/DT reference number) and

proceed to complete the application form. Upon submission, kindly click on ‘Apply

For Drive’

• Scenario B: If you are a new user, kindly click on 'Register Now', choose category

as ‘IT’ and proceed to fill in your details. Submit your application form and click

on 'Apply For Drive'

Step 3. Select In-centre mode of test, choose your 3 preferred test centres and click ‘Apply’.

Kindly note that allocation of test centre will depend on the centre availability.

Step 4. To confirm your status, check ‘Track Your Application’. The status should reflect

as "Applied for Drive".

Important Note:

• You must have all your original academic documents to date, to be submitted at the

time of the Interview (if shortlisted for interview).

• Communication related to the test will be provided by our official test partner, TCS

iON.

• TCS does not send any hiring related communication or job offers from email ids

such as Gmail, Rediffmail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail etc.

• TCS does not ask candidates to deposit money for any employment offer.

• TCS is not associated with any external agency / company to conduct interviews or

make offers of employment, on its behalf.


• Do note, meeting TCS eligibility criteria is mandatory. We will review candidate’s

eligibility at every stage of the selection process and if found ineligible or declared

details are discrepant, the candidature will be disqualified.

Test Eligibility

• Highest Qualification:

TCS NQT is exclusively open to the graduating Batch of 2025 - Bachelor of

Technology (B.Tech) / Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) / Master of Technology

(M.Tech) / Master of Engineering (M.E) / Master of Computer Applications

(M.C.A) / Master of Science (M.Sc / M.S) in any specialization offered by AICTE /

UGC recognized universities/colleges.

• Academic Aggregate: Candidates should have a minimum aggregate (all

subjects in all semesters) of 60% or equivalent CGPA in class 10th, 12th, Diploma

(if applicable), Graduation and Post-Graduation (if applicable).

If selected, the offer will be valid only if the degree / provisional degree certificate

clearly states that the candidates have cleared Engineering in 'First Class’ within

the stipulated course duration.

• Backlogs/Arrears/ATKT: No pending backlog will be permitted at the time of

appearing for the TCS selection process.

• Extended Education: No extended education will be allowed. Candidates should

have completed the course in the stipulated course duration.

• Gap/Break in Education: It is mandatory to declare gaps in education, if any.

Overall academic gap should not exceed 24 months until highest qualification.

Relevant documents, as applicable, will be checked for gaps.


• Course Types: Only full-time courses will be considered (part-

time/correspondence courses will not be considered).

• Open Schooling: Candidates who have completed their Secondary and/or

Senior Secondary course from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are

also eligible to apply if the graduation and post-graduation (if applicable)

courses are done full-time.

• Work Experience: Candidates with prior work experience of up to 2 years are

eligible to apply (applicable only for post-graduate students).

• Age: Candidates should be between 18 to 28 years.

Test Features & Pattern

Features:

• TCS NQT will be conducted in TCS iON Centers.

• TCS NQT is an integrated test consisting of two

sections: Foundation and Advanced.

• While all are encouraged to attempt both sections, ‘Advanced section’ is

mandatory if you aspire for Digital or Prime offer.

• Based on the test performance, candidates will qualify for Prime, Digital or

Ninja interviews.

FAQs

Q1: Which year of passing (YoP) is being considered for the TCS NQT Hiring

Process?

Candidates from the graduating batch of 2025 with the following academic

qualifications in any specialization offered by AICTE / UGC recognized Universities /

colleges would be considered-

• Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)

• Bachelor of Engineering (B.E)

• Master of Technology (M.Tech)

• Master of Engineering (M.E)

• Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A)

• Master of Science (M.Sc / M.S)

Q2: When is the last date to register?

A2: The last date to register is Sunday, 23rd March, 2025

Q3: When is the test scheduled?

A3: The test will be scheduled from Saturday;15th Mar 2025 onwards.

Q4: Do I need to create my profile under 'BPS' or 'IT'?

A4: You are requested to create your profile under 'IT'.

Q5: What would be the mode of the test?


A5: Candidates are required to visit the allotted TCS iON Center to appear for an in-

center mode of test.

Q6: My NextStep account is locked. How can I unlock it?

A6: Please note that after 3 unsuccessful OTP attempts, your account will be locked for 4

hours. You will get 2 more OTP attempts after 4 hours. However, if incorrect OTP is

entered, the account will be locked. You will be allowed to login again only post the date

change (i.e the next day). Hence, we request you to be careful with your login ID and

OTP.

You are requested to use a Desktop / Laptop. Please login using the latest version of

Internet Explorer / Google Chrome and ensure you clear the cache, history and cookies.

Q7: Is 'Apply For Drive' mandatory?

A7: Yes, it is mandatory. If you do not click on 'Apply For Drive', you will not be

considered for TCS NQT entry level hiring process.

Q8: I am not getting the 'Apply for Drive' option, what should I do?

A8: Once you fill in the application form, log out and log in again.

Then click on ‘Apply for Drive.’

If you are not getting the ‘Apply for Drive’ option, please check as below:

1. Confirm whether you have completed and submitted your application form

2. Check if you have erroneously registered under ‘BPS’ instead of ‘IT.’ If yes, then

write to tcsbps.support@tcs.com for the deletion of your profile under BPS. Once

your profile has been deleted, please create a new profile under IT
3. Validate the qualification you have entered in the application form

4. Check the Year of Passing you have entered in the application form

The 'Apply For Drive' option will be enabled only for eligible candidates for the

graduating batch of 2025, with highest qualification as Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)

/ Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) / Master of Technology (M.Tech) / Master of

Engineering (M.E) / Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A) / Master of Science (M.Sc

/ M.S).

Q9: I have applied for the drive but have not got a confirmation e-mail, what

should I do?

A9: After applying for the drive, your application status will reflect as 'Applied for

Drive'. You will not get further acknowledgment or confirmation mail.

Q10: My college has a CGPA grading system. However, in my application form,

there is only one option to update my marks. What should I do?

A10: Please convert CGPA into percentage, fill in the application form and click

on 'Apply for Drive'.

Example: To understand the calculation of percentage in a better way, let us take an

example, a candidate has secured 7.2 CGPA

Overall Percentage of Marks = 10 x CGPA (10 x 7.2 =72%)

Q11: What if I already have a CT/DT reference number? Do I need to register

again?

A11: No, you need not register again if your details are mentioned correctly
Q12: I have forgotten my CT/DT Reference ID. Where do I get it?

A12: Post successful registration, you would have received an email

from recruitment.entrylevel@tcs.com with the Reference ID. If you do not have the

email, you can write to ilp.support@tcs.com from your registered email ID.

Q13: Can I make changes to my profile as I have made some mistakes?

A13: Yes, but the changes are restricted to limited fields only. Hence, we request you to

fill in the application form carefully on the first attempt itself.

Q14: Can I change my photo in the application form?

A14: Yes, you can change your photograph before you ‘Apply For Drive’. You are

requested to carefully follow the below instructions while uploading your photograph-

• Maximum file size of 200 KB.

• Allowed File Type: JPG, JPEG.

• Photo should be in formal attire with white background.

• Avoid white clothes with white background.

• Face and shoulder should be clearly visible.

• Both the ears must be clearly visible.

• Body pose should be appropriate.

• Do not upload selfies or informal photos.

• Photo should be of good resolution.

Q15: I have incorrectly created my profile under 'BPS'. What should I do now?

A15: Please write to tcsbps.support@tcs.com for the deletion of your profile under BPS.

Once your profile has been deleted, please create a new profile under IT.
Q16: I already have my CT/DT number. I need to update my marks/CGPA in my

application form. How can I do so?

A16: You can edit the details by clicking ‘Edit Application Form’ and updating the

required details. You can make changes before you apply for the drive.

Q17: I am not able to edit the Full-time/Part-time course in my Application Form.

What should I do?

A17: If you are not able to edit the Full-time / Part-time course in the Application Form,

send an email to ilp.support@tcs.com for deletion of your profile, post which you can

create a new profile with the same registered email ID.

Q19: How will I know about my test schedule/test related information?

A19: Information related to test will be communicated by our test partner - TCS iON

(email ID - careers.tcshub@mail.digialm.com).

Q20: How will we get the results of the test?

A20: Shortlisted candidates will receive further communication on the next steps to

their registered email ID.

Q21: What documents are required for the TCS selection process?

A21: You must have all your X, XII, Diploma (if applicable), UG, and PG (if applicable)

academic marksheets till the latest semester and degree certificates. Original

documents will be verified at the time of interview as well as joining.

Q22: What documents are required if I have work experience?


A22: If you are a candidate with work experience, you must provide experience related

documents from all the previous organization/s such as Experience Letter or Relieving

Letter or documents wherein date of joining (DOJ) and Last Working Date (LWD) are

clearly mentioned.
