Chapter One

The Slory of Prophet Adam

The Greation of Prophet Aam ()

Aah () said:

"And remember when your Lord said to the angels, Verily,

Iam going to place a successive authority [mankind] on

Earth.' They said: Will You place upon it one who will

make mischief therein and shed blood, we glorifyYouwhile

with praises and thanks and sanctifyYou.' He (Allah] said:
Iknow that which you do not know.' And He taught Adam
all the names of everything, then showed them to the angels
and said: "Tell Me the names of these if you are truthful."

They [angels] said: 'Exalted are You, we have no

knowledge except what you have taught us. Verily, it is You,
the All-Knower, the All-Wise.' And He said: O' Adam,
inform them of their names.' And when he informed them
of their names, He said: 'Did I not tell you that I know the
unseen in the heavens and the Earth and I know what you
reveal and what you have been concealing.'
And remember when We said to the angels: 'Prostrate

yourselves before Adam.' And they prostrated except

Iblees,he refused and was arrogant and became one of the
disbelievers. And We said: 'O'Adam, dwell you and your
wife in the Paradise and eat both ofyou freely with pleasure
and delight, of things therein as whenever you will, but
approach not this tree lest you be among the wrongdoers.
14 The Story of Prophet Adam ()
But the Shayân (Satan]caused them to slip out of it [the

Paradise]and got them out from that [condition]in which

they had been. We said, Get you down, all, with enmity
between yourselves and you will have upon the Earth a

place of settlementand provision for a time.' Then Adam

received from his Lord words. And He [theLord] accepted
his repentance. Verily, it is He Who is the Accepting of

repentance, the Most Merciful. And We said, 'Getdown all

of you from this place i.e., Paradise], and when guidance

comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance,
there shall be no fear on them, nor shall they grieve. But
those who disbelieve and deny Our signs, those will be the
companions of Fire. They shall abide therein eternally.' "
(Qur 'an 2: 30-39)

Allah (%), also said:

"Verily, the likeness of Jesus before Allah is the likeness of

Adam. He [Allah] created him from dust, then said to him

'Be' and he was. (Qur 'an 3: 59)

Allah (4%), also said:

"0'mankind, fear your Lord Who created you from one

soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of
them many men and women; and fear Allah through Whom
you ask one another, and the wombs [i.e., fear Allah in

regard to relations of kinship]. Surely, Allah is Ever an AI

Watcher over you." (Our 'an 4: 1)

Allah (4),also said:

"0'mankind! Indeed We have created you from a male

and a female and made you into peoples and tribes, that
you may know one another. Verily, the most noble of you
in the sight of Allah is the most righteous. Verily, Allah is
