JOINT AFFIDAVIT OF ARREST
We, the UNDERSIGNED Police Officers, members of the Laoag City Police Drug
Enforcement Unit (PDEU), presently assigned at the Laoag City Police Station, Ilocos Norte, do
hereby depose and state THAT:
01. On March 25, 2025, at about 4:30 PM, the Laoag City PDEU, in coordination with the
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), conducted a buy-bust operation against
Eric Jhon Brinas, a suspected drug dealer operating in Brgy. 1, San Lorenzo, Laoag
City.
02. Acting on intelligence reports and a confirmed test buy, the operation was carefully
planned to catch the suspect in the act of selling illegal drugs. An undercover officer
arranged a drug transaction with the suspect at Club E Disco, District 1, San Lorenzo,
Laoag City.
03. During the operation, the poseur buyer successfully purchased a sachet of suspected
shabu from Eric Jhon Brinas using pre-marked money.
04. Upon completion of the transaction, the backup team moved in for the arrest. The
suspect attempted to flee but was quickly subdued by operatives.
05. A body search of the suspect yielded the following seized items:
a) 7 sachets of suspected shabu (total estimated weight: 7 grams, valued at
approximately ₱50,000)
b) Drug paraphernalia(Aluminum foil, Digital Weighing Scale and a lighter)
c) A cellphone, believed to be used for drug transactions
d) Cash amounting to ₱20,000
e) Identification cards and other personal items
06. The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine and
Republic Act 9745 (Anti-Torture Act), as well as his violations under Republic Act
9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
07. The suspect was brought to the Laoag City Police Station for booking, proper
disposition, and further investigation. The seized evidence was inventoried and
documented in the presence of:

08. The confiscated drugs will be submitted to the PNP Crime Laboratory for forensic
examination, and charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of R.A. 9165 will be filed
against the suspect, who remains in police custody pending inquest proceedings.
We executed this joint affidavit to attest to the truthfulness of the foregoing facts and to
support the filing of criminal charges against Eric Jhon Brinas.
