ATTRITION
SYSTEM
The Attrition System for Uniformed Personnel of the
Philippine National Poltce Is envisioned to support the
professionalization of the PNP by facilitating the removal
of unfit and unproductive uniformed personnel from the
police service.
Attrition - is the reduction of personnel due to
retJrement or separation due to attainment of maximum
tenure of position, non-assignment demotion in
position, non-promotion, or any other means specified
in sections 24 to 29 of RA 8551.

The maxim um tenure of PNP members holding key


positions is hereby prescribed as follows:
• Chief, PN P - fou r (4) yea rs
• Deputy Chief- four (4) yea rs
• Director of t he Staff Services - fou r (4) yea rs
• Regional Directors - six {6) years
• Provincial/City Directors - nine (9) years
