About
Us
NISHTHA is a programme by the Government of India that focuses on improving
teacher training and education quality. It offers professional development for
teachers, focusing on modern teaching methods and collaboration with States/ UTs
and autonomous bodies under the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Defence,
Ministry of Tribal Affairs etc. Aligned with New Education Policy 2020, it aims to
equip educators with the necessary skills to improve student learning.
NISHTHA also ensures 50 hours of capacity building programs of New Education
Policy 2020 by providing continuous training programmes that would update
teachers on content and pedagogy, as well as create awareness among them on
new priorities and initiatives.

Offline Training
NISHTHA Face to Face Implemented in 34 States/ UTs
was launched on August under the Samagra Shiksha, a
21st, 2019 centrally sponsored scheme.
Face to Face Training Target Audience
1 National Resource Group (NRG) training Key Resource Persons (KRPs) and
State Resource Persons-Leadership (SRPs).
2 KRPs and SRPs trained teachers at the block level.
3 District-level teacher training was initiated in 23 States/ UTs.
Challenges
Scaling and wider reach due to diversities in India (linguistic barrier, location,
culture, etc.).
COVID-19 pandemic forced school closures and limited in-person training.
Solution
Online courses planned by the Ministry of Education for a wider reach.

About
NIPUN Bharat Mission aims for all children to be literate and numerate by
2026-27. NISHTHA FLN, launched in 2021, provides online training for
teachers on foundational literacy and numeracy using engaging methods
and covering multilingual classrooms. Courses are available in Hindi, English,
and Urdu.

Early Childhood Care and Education

About
NISHTHA ECCE (launched in July 2022) improves pre-school quality for a
smooth foundation in learning. It equips teachers (Anganwadi workers and
pre-school instructors) with skills for stimulating classrooms through 6
courses delivered by master trainers (CDPOs and DPOs).
Objective
1 To orient the master trainers of Anganwadi Workers and Pre School
Teachers.
2 To promote holistic development (physical-motor, language/literacy,
cognitive, social-emotional, creative).
3 To make the master trainers aware of pedagogical practices meant for the
ECCE stage.
4 To encourage adaptation of activities to local contexts.

Preliminary Phase
1 NCERT forms a National Resource Group (NRG) to orient Master Trainers.
2 States/UTs identify program coordinators and communicate details to
NCERT.
3 NCERT creates an online communication group for coordinators.
4 NCERT conducts an orientation for implementing authorities and
coordinators.
5 States/UTs collect data on first-level beneficiaries (CRCs, BRCs, POs,
CDPOs, Supervisors) using NCERT's format and submit it to NCERT.

First Phase - Online course for first-level beneficiaries
1 The technical coordinator of the State/ UT will create a telegram group at
the state level and add all the first-level beneficiaries to the group.
2 The courses for the first-level beneficiaries will be implemented on DIKSHA
in NCERT tenant by NCERT as per the following steps:
The course material will be uploaded to the DIKSHA platform by NCERT
Course links will be shared with the coordinators through online means.
Coordinators will share the course link with the first-level beneficiaries
Monitoring and follow-up system at the state level will be decided by
the states to ensure that course completion by all first-level
beneficiaries are done on priority.
Mentor Training (For NISHTHA Early Childhood Care & Education)
1 States collect the required number of Master Trainers i.e. 1 per 250
beneficiaries* and provide their details to NCERT for training.
2 States select those mentors who have completed all 6 courses for NISHTHA
(ECCE) and are well equipped with the training skills for assisting the pre-
school teachers/ Anganwadi workers.
3 Further, NCERT conducts 3 days face-to-face training to identify the Master
Trainers.
Training Delivery
For online interactions, one center in the Block/ District will be identified
where 50 Master Trainees will come together to attend the Live sessions

trainers connected per session

Stage
State coordinator to check the status of completion of the
courses by all beneficiaries. Once all the courses are
completed, the state coordinator will submit a report to
NCERT with all data through proper channels along with the
data of beneficiaries, who have completed the courses in
CSV format.
Certificate
of Ceompletion
At the end of the course, learners are expected to take up an objective
assessment quiz. Learners who acquired 70% in the final assessment will receive a
‘Certificate of Participation’ online in the DIKSHA portal itself. It may take 0-15
days to populate the Certificate. It can be downloaded from the profile page on
the DIKSHA portal.
