Important Note:

Please install and test the ZOOM for Windows / iOS / Android applications on your device
beforehand to ensure a smooth Online Assessment without any technical issues. This
application will be used for the TISS Online Assessment (OA).

----------------------------------------

Before your TISS Online Assessment (OA)

1. Choose your device for TISS-OA

Choose a device (Laptop / Desktop / Tablet / Smart Phone) which you are most
comfortable with and the one with the most reliable technology. Usually a
computer/laptop will be best.
2. Install Video Conferencing applications
Download and Install the video conferencing application Zoom on your device
which will be used for conducting the Online Assessment. If you already have Zoom
application in your device, please ensure that necessary updates are installed, and the
application is working well.
3. Test the internet connectivity, video conferencing application and all its fucntionalities
Test your internet connection. Test your camera, mic and sound using the Zoom
Application. Make sure that you understand how it works and test it all again
right before the Online Assessment commences. You may try this by connecting
with any of your friends on Zoom to see if the audio and video functionalities are
working well.
4. Select the Proper Location for the OA
Your computer should be placed in a proper fixed place without the possibility of
any disturbances and movement of people in the screen view during the time of
Online Assessment. Choose a place with the best internet connectivity and
sufficient light so that you are clearly visible and audible to the panels. This is a
prerequisite for a successful Online Assessment.
In case the place you are currently located has poor network connection, you
may explore temporarily moving to another place on the day of the Online
Assessment to ensure that the Online Assessment goes uninterrupted.
In case of situations where the connectivity is poor in the location the candidate
normally reside or live, you may explore the possibility of any institutions, cyber
café or any other place where a stable internet connectivity and device is
available with the necessary privacy and confidentiality ensured.
If the candidate unable to attend the OA due to internet connectivity, non
availability of the IT equipment for the OA, Institute will not be responsible for the
same and no alternative arrangement will be provided by the Institute.
5. Test the Zoom meeting in operation
It is advised that you test a zoom meeting with a friend, colleague or a family
member to see how all the functionalities such as video and audio are working
well to ensure that your devices and applications are working properly and you
are ready to go with the Online Assessment (OA) on the allotted day for you.
6. Plan for Glitches
Have a backup plan ready if something goes wrong on the day of the Online Assessment.
For example: prepare the same video conferencing applications-zoom in another machine
or mobile wherever possible, and keep it ready for emergency use.

Day of the TISS Online Assessment (OA)

1. Test All Equipment Prior to Online Assessment Time

Do a run-through at least an hour before your Online Assessment time so that
you can ensure that the systems are ready for the Online Assessment. This will
help you be familiar with the applications and processes. Ensure that your device
is fully charged before you begin the OA session and keep the device in charging
mode during the entire duration of the session. This is to ensure that any power
failure does not interfere with the process.
2. Dress Appropriately
Though there is no specific dress code for the Online Assessment, you are
advised to dress appropriately as you would be attending a regular physical
personal interview.
3. Preparation before the OPI Starts
You are required to close all apps and programs in your device other than the
Zoom application that will be used for the Online Assessment (OA) as other
active programs in your computer might interfere with and interrupt the Online
Assessment process. Keep your phone with the registered mobile number
available with you for us to get in touch with you before the Online Assessment
starts. Go to the location from where you are going to attend the Online
Assessment and shut out all distractions and give yourself around 20 minutes to
collect yourself and do any last-minute preparations.

During the TISS Online Assessment (OA)

Interview schedule
You will be allotted a date and time for the Online Assessment (OA), which will be
mentioned as first half or second half of the day. The meeting zoom link for the OA
will be published two days prior to the OA date. The first half session begins at
10:00AM and ends at 01:00PM. The second half session begins at 2:00PM and
expected to end by 7:00PM. Your reporting time is 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM as per
your schedule.
1. Waiting Room
When you join the Zoom meeting using the link and password provided, you will be
asked to wait in the waiting room. You will be joining with many other candidates;
you are not allowed to discuss and use text messages to any other candidates. You
are required to mute your mic during the time you spend in the waiting room. If you
are found disturbing any candidate(s) and/or not keeping the discipline in the room
and/or not muting your mic, you will be taken out from the waiting room. In such
cases we cannot assure you any second chance for the OA.
2. Lobby Room
Closer to your Online Assessment time, you will be taken to a Lobby Room to test
the internet connectivity, video, sound and other requirements specified above. You
will interact with the Online
Assessment coordinator and they may ask you a few questions to identify yourself as
the right candidate. If it is found that some other person has joined the room on your
behalf with your username and password, you will be rejected for the Online
Assessment. As this will amount to impersonation, such candidates will not be given
a second chance. If you are not fulfilling the requirement like
video/sound/connectivity properly, either you will be taken back to the waiting room
or removed from the Online Assessment. Upon verification and fulfilling all the
requirements, you will be taken to the Online Assessment room approximately
within 10 to 15 mins.
3. Look Directly into the Camera
During the Online Assessment make sure that you are clearly visible to the panels
and you are required to look at the camera while talking. Looking anywhere else and
trying to move or moving from the place and/or trying to use any devices during the
Online Assessment time, will disqualify your Online Assessment and you will not be
considered for the admission.
4 Online Assessment
Once you are moved into the Online Assessment room, Online Assessment panel
members will interact with you for approximately 30 minutes or more. If you exit
yourself during the Online Assessment, you will be considered as not attended the
Online Assessment and no marks will be provided for the same. If any technical
glitch happens during the Online Assessment, your Online Assessment will be
considered as incomplete. We may attempt to connect you back to complete the
Online Assessment on the same day. However if the Online Assessment remains
incomplete, upon request, you will be allotted another time on the same day or
another day depending on the availability of slots.
5. On Completion of the Online Assessment
On confirmation from the panel that your Online Assessment is completed, you are
required to exit the room immediately and close the Zoom application on your
device. If you fail to exit the room even after informing you to do so after completion
of the Online Assessment, you will be force- moved from the room and your Online
Assessment will be considered as null and void.
6. Candidates will be disqualified from the OA if found:
a. During the entire duration of the OA process, you are requested to look
directly into the camera and do not refer any material including on
electronic devices. Any candidates who found violating and indulging in
any kind of unfair means such as operating other devices simultaneously
and / or taking help of others will be disqualified from the Admission
Process. Further, recording the audio/video of the Online Assessment
Process is strictly prohibited and recording, possession, circulation or use
of such content is a punishable offence.
b. You are required to ensure and adhere to the decorum and discipline of
the Online Assessment process and follow all instructions given by the
TISS officials. Any form of misbehavior, ill-treatment, and use of
objectionable language with any of the staff members/panels members
will lead to immediate removal of the said candidate from the OA process
and might lead to disqualification from the Admission Process at TISS for
period of 03 years.
