Abstract
This study investigates the impact of screen time on sleep quality among 30 Grade 10
students in RDMNHS. The results show that 40% of students spend 5-6 hours using
screens before bedtime. A significant majority (60%) reported negative effects on focus and
alertness the next day. Additionally, 46.7% of students experienced difficulty falling asleep
due to screen use. Furthermore, 50% of students reported waking up suddenly in the
middle of the night after using screens. The study also found that 80% of students were
aware of the "blue light" emitted by screens. However, only 50% of students consistently
use "night mode" or "blue light filter" settings. The majority of students (53.3%) use
screens in bed before attempting to sleep. Most students (36.7%) go to bed between 10:00
PM and 11:00 PM on school nights. Overall, the study highlights the need for students to
establish healthy screen use habits and bedtime routines.

Specific Problems:
• Does increased screen time before bedtime lead to poorer sleep quality and daytime
tiredness among Grade 10 students at Ramon Duterte Memorial National High School?
• How does the duration of screen time (total hours spent on screens) throughout the
day correlate with the reported sleep duration of Grade 10 students at Ramon Duterte
Memorial National High School?
• Are there differences in reported sleep latency (how long it takes to fall asleep) and

Conclusion
In this study, The research clearly demonstrates that extreme screen time has negative
possible effects on sleep quality. The findings of this research state that screen time before
bed disrupts sleep concentration that leads to poor sleep quality and other related
problems.
This study employed a multi method approach, combining a thorough literature review
with a quantitative survey, to examine the relationship between screen time and sleep
quality. The results indicated that using screens before bed can lead to poor sleep quality,
This research has meaningful outcomes for Grade 10 students ,It is essential to
acknowledge the potential risks associated with excessive screen time.
While this study provides valuable insights into relationship between screen time and sleep
quality, Several aspects require additional exploration. Future research could focus
exploring how screen time interacts with other factors, such as physical activity, diet and
stress, to affect sleep quality.
The recent study makes a significant contribution to the field of mental health by providing
compelling evidence on the relationship between screen time and sleep quality. Through
the application of quantitative methods and inclusion of a diverse sample. This study builds
upon existing research and enhances our understanding of the relationship between screen
time and sleep quality.
In conclusion, this research contributes significantly to our understanding of the
relationship between screen time and sleep quality, highlighting the need for mindful
screen use habits to promote good quality sleep and overall well-being.
