In the modern era, the concept of branding has expanded to include the marketing and
communication techniques that help to distinguish a company or products from
competitors, aiming to create a lasting impression in the minds of customers. The key
components that form a brand's toolbox include a brand's identity, brand
communication (such as by logos and trademarks), brand awareness, brand loyalty,
and various branding (brand management) strategies.
Around the world, there are many brands, among them Samsung. Many people use

Though a few years difference may not seem like much, this si a major head start in
the fast moving world of brends. So how did Samsung do it? How did Samsung
overtake its competitors who has such huge leads in time and money? Maybe one
good idea made all diference.
Samsung started in 1938 as a small trading company located in Su-dong near Daegu
city.It was founded by Lee Byung-chul. He had only forty employees and the
company’s major business was production and distribution of groceries within the
city.
In 1947, as the company began to grow Lee put up their office in Seoul. He soon
started a sugar refinery which also succeeded in a very short span of time. Lee was a
very ambitious person and in 1954 built the largest woollen mill in Korea located in the
suburbs of Daegu city.
Some interesting facts:
   -   The name of the company “Samsung” means “three stars”. It was chosen
       by the founder Lee Byung-chull with the hope for his company to develop
       in scale and power like stars in the sky.
   -   Samsung has been around since 1938. The Samsung Group is made up of
       80 different businesses.
   -   To make sure the best quality products, 90% of the company’s products
       are manufactured in Samsung’s own factories.
The Device Solutions Division of Samsung Electronics gives hope to socially
disadvantaged individuals, working with others to improve lives globally and in local
communities, and experiencing the joy of sharing through employees’voluntary
donations of their money and time and their participation in activities such as
educating children and adolescents.
During the 2018 Global Volunteer Festival, SELA employees from 8 Latin American
countries celebrated diversity and promoted the use of technology in education to
create a more inclusive world.
Volunteers equipped with Samsung Galaxy tablets and STEM interactive educational
tools were positioned at four stations in each participating school. SELA volunteers in
Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Panama, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador,
and Costa Rica conducted educational and interactive MiniLabs, which instructed and
engaged around 700 youths from public schools in disadvantaged areas.
