Pattern
INFO AND TIPS
The sweater consists of front, back and sleeves sewn together at the end.
Start and finish all rows with 1 edge stitch.
Stitches used in the pattern:
● stockinette stitch: knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side;
● rib stitch: k 2, p 2
● ladybug pattern 1 for sizes 3, 4, 5 years
● ladybug pattern 2 for sizes 6, 8, 10, 12 years
BODY
FRONT PIECE
With 3 mm needles and col. 29 CO 96 (102) 108 (114) 120 (126) 136 sts.
Work 8 (8) 8 (10) 10 (12) 12 rows in rib stitch (k 2, p 2).
Change to 3.5 mm needles and start to work in stockinette stitch. Work 100 (108) 116 (122)
132 (146) 154 rows.
In the next row BO 30 (30) 30 (34) 34 (38) 38 middle sts for the neckline. Then, working with
the separate threads, BO from the neckline side, in every second row on the both sides 3
sts, 2 sts, 1 st, 1 st (all sizes).
Work the sts on the shoulders until the number of rows in stockinette stitch reaches 120

BACK PIECE
Work it just like the front piece, but BO sts for the neckline in the row 105 (113) 121 (127)
140 (151) 159. Then continue like the front.
SLEEVE 1
Start and finish all rows with 1 edge stitch.
With 3 mm needles and col. 29, CO 50 (50) 50 (62) 62 (62) 62 sts. Work 6 (6) 8 (8) 8 (10) 10
rows in rib stitch (k 2, p 2).
In the last row of the rib inc:
size 3, 4, 5 years - 1 st every 6 sts = 58
size 6, 8 years - 1 st every 10 sts = 68
size 10, 12 years - 1 st every 5 sts = 74.
Change to 3.5 mm needles and start to work in stockinette stitch.
Work 4 rows, and in the next row inc 1 st on the both sides of the sleeve.
Continue working increasing 1 st on both sides of the sleeve in every 6th row (all sizes) until
there are 88 (96) 114 (122) 128 (138) 150 rows in stockinette stitch.
BO all sts.
SLEEVE 2
On this sleeve there will be a ladybug motif worked 3 times.
For sizes 3, 4 and 5 years - the smaller one, Scheme 1;
for sizes 6, 8, 10 and 12 years - the larger one, Scheme 2.
Work Sleeve 2 in the same way as Sleeve 1 until you change the needles to 3.5 mm and you
start the stockinette stitch.
The same as in Sleeve 1, inc 1 st to the end of the sleeve, on both sides. First in the 5th row
and then in each 6th row.
Size 3, 4, 5 years - Scheme 1
Work 12 (12) 12 rows counting from the beginning of the stockinette stitch with col. 29.
In the next row, (the first row of ladybug motif) work as follows: k 32 col. 29, k 2 col. 32, k 1
col. 10, k 2 col. 32, k col. 29 to the end of the row.
In the next 15 rows, continue working the ladybug motif according to Scheme 1.
After finishing the ladybug motif, work 10 (14) 20 more rows in stockinette stitch with col.
29.
In the next row start to work the second ladybug motif.
Work as follows: k 20 col. 29, k 2 col. 32, k 1 col. 10, k 2 col. 32, k col. 29 to the end of the
row.

In the next 15 rows, continue working the ladybug motif according to Scheme 1.
After finishing the ladybug motif, work 8 (10) 18 more rows in stockinette stitch with col. 29.
In the next row start to work the third ladybug motif.
Work as follows: k 30 col. 29, k 2 col. 32, k 1 col. 10, k 2 col. 32, k col. 29 to the end of the
row.
In the next 15 rows, continue working the ladybug motif according to Scheme 1.
After finishing the ladybug motif, work 10 (12) 16 more rows in stockinette stitch with col.
29.
BO all sts.
Size 6, 8, 10, 12 years - Scheme 2
Work 4 (6) 10 (12) rows counting from the beginning of the stockinette stitch with col. 29.
In the next row, (the first row of ladybug motif) work as follows: k 42 (42) 46 (46) col. 29, k 4
col. 32, k 2 col. 10, k 4 col. 32, k col. 29 to the end of the row.
In the next 31 rows, continue working the ladybug motif according to Scheme 2.
After finishing the ladybug motif, work 12 (14) 16 (20) more rows in stockinette stitch with
col. 29.
In the next row start to work the second ladybug motif.
Work as follows: k 20 (20) 24 (24) col. 29, k 4 col. 32, k 2 col. 10, k 4 col. 32, k col. 29 to the
end of the row.
In the next 31 rows, continue working the ladybug motif according to Scheme 2.
After finishing the ladybug motif, work 8 (8) 10 (14) more rows in stockinette stitch with col.
29.
In the next row start to work the third ladybug motif.
Work as follows: k 30 (30) 34 (34) col. 29, k 4 col. 32, k 2 col. 10, k 4 col. 32, k col. 29 to the
end of the row.
In the next 31 rows, continue working the ladybug motif according to Scheme 2.
After finishing the ladybug motif, work 2 (4) 6 (8) more rows in stockinette stitch with col. 29.
BO all sts.
FINISHING
Sew the front and the back of the sweater on the shoulders. With circular needles 3 mm
pick up 104, (104) 104 (108) 108 (112) 112 sts around the head opening.
Work 6 (6) 6 (8) 8 (10) 10 rows in rib stitch. BO all sts.
Sew the remaining parts of the sweater.
