mm c/c, preferred - Gyproc Make 8mm x45mm )

12 The position of fasteners on 50mm Floor channel

should be at Centre and zigzag pattern for 72mm &
above floor channel. At Starting point of floor
channel, put two fasteners
13 Transfer this line on the soffit with the help of Laser
During or Plumb
14 Similarly fix the ceiling channel on soffit with
Gyproc fasteners @ 600mm c/c along with piece of
fire line board to avoid direct contact of ceiling
channel with slab
C Stud fixing
15 Match the slots of all studs from one side
16 Cut the all studs 10mm shorter than actual height
from one end only
17 Fix the end studs on the structure (wall / RCC ) with
fasteners at 600 mm c/c(Gyproc make 8mm x45mm)

18 Do Boxing of studs wherever required

19 Ensure overlapping of stud is 300mm for heights up
to 5 M & 600mm for more than 5 M height
20 Place the stud into the floor & ceiling channel at
610mm / 407mm / 305mm c/c (as per the
specification)
21 Ensure that studs are placed in one direction
(Orientation)
22 Complete the junction details as per the lay out (L
Junction, T Junction etc.)
23 Check the vertical alignment of stud with the spirit
level
D Door & window opening
24 Place the wooden batten inside the stud. The length
of wooden batten should be always matching to the

25 Fold the floor channel to ensure a minimum

overlapping of 150mm on the end stud and fix them
together using Gyproc metal to metal screw
26 Similarly create the window opening by using Floor
channel and wooden batten

27 Cut & bend the floor Channel for form enclosure for
duct opening

E Fixing of Noggin Channel

28 Ensure use of hand gloves, safety goggles during
fixing work to avoid skin and eye injury. Working on
2 meter and above platform use proper scaffolding
and full body harness.

During 29 Fix the noggin channel using metal to metal screw

and ensure that the noggin channel is placed behind
all the horizontal Joints of outer layer of boards.
This will not allow any kind of movement of stud
during installation of electrical / mechanical services.

30 Put additional noggin channel for mounting the

switch box wherever required
31 Crimp the stud to floor channel with Gyproc
crimping tool. Don't fix it using any kind of fasteners
Don't fix the stud to ceiling channel, otherwise the
partition may not be able to Provide the allowable
deflection.
F Planned Loading and Services
32 Put the supports for planned loading (Plywood /
Loading bracket). Fittings like TV, AC, Cabinet,
Wash basin etc. would come under planned loading
33 Pass the services through the cut outs of the stud.
Provide necessary supports for all the plumbing pipes

G Baffling
34 The main purpose of baffling is to restrict the fire.
Put one piece of 1ft ht. x 2 ft.L board behind the
Switch box / skirting & fix them using ceiling angle.
The property of the board will be matching to the
wall. For better sound insulation & fire resistance
avoid back to back switch box fixing

layer of boarding.& 35/50mm screws at 300mm for
second layer boarding. Staggered the board joints

37 Ensure that, the drywall screws are 10mm away from

tapered edge & 13mm away from square edge to
avoid breakage of the gypsum board

38 Ensure the screw pattern as per the image to achieve

the best performance in fire and acoustics
39 Both Inner layer of boards should be rest on the floor

40 All boards should be installed in vertically on to the

stud.
41 Maintain uniform gap of 10mm from top & bottom of
outer layer of board, for the application of sealant

42 Put two layers of Fire line boards at periphery of duct

opening. To avoid vibrations & path to fire
I Insulation
43 Ensure use of hand gloves, safety goggles, and nose
mask during fixing work to avoid skin and eye injury.

During
44 Fix the glass wool holding clips on back side of board
using double sided tape.

45 Place the glass wool inside the cavity of studs & lock
with glass wool holding clips
Other Side Boarding

ducts to achieve the best performance in fire.
52 Put fire and acoustic sealant (preferably of Hilti
make) at the periphery of the drywall and cut-outs
from both the side

M Jointing Finishing
53 Finish all the joints of boards with the jointing
compound & paper tape. Don't remove paper from
Gypsum board
54 For better fire resistance , apply one coat of Jointing
compound on first layer of Board joints along with
Paper tape.
55 Fill the joints of boards with jointing compound &
embed the paper tape
56 Spread first coat of compound 100mm - 150mm on
During tape
