DESCRIPTION OF SIGNALING WORKS

Sub: ‘KHAMMAM’ station in Dornakal Jn. - Vijayawada Jn. Section of Secunderabad


Division:- 1) Replacement of old and wornout signaling Assets of IBS between
‘KMT-PNDP’ stations.2) Provision of High Availability Axle Counters for IB
(BPAC) section and AS section (LSS to IBS) between ‘KMT-PNDP’ section.
At present KHAMMAM is a Class – ‘B’, Standard – III ® station on Dornakal Jn.
- Vijayawada Jn. Double Line electrified section. The Signals & Points are operated
from ‘A’&‘B’ Cabin (block) Panel 30 & 24 knobs respectively. All the lines are track
circuited from Home to Home. Block Proving Axle Counters are provided on ‘KMT-MLMG’
and ‘KMT-PNDP’ sections.

Now it is proposed to Replace old and wornout signaling Assets of IBS between
‘KMT-PNDP’ stations & to provide High Availability Axle Counters with Phase shift in
place of existing analog Axle Counters for IB (BPAC) section and AS section (LSS -
IBS) on ‘KMT-PNDP’ section.

The following works are involved in connection with the above proposals:

All the necessary outdoor works (Laying of different cables & terminations of the
same in locations and K-racks in relay room, Installation and testing of HASSDAC) and
Indoor works (extension of power supply, relay wiring as per the circuitry without
affecting the existing circuitry, erection of separate relay rack wherever required and
provision of reset boxes for resetting the HASSDAC, occupied / clear indications on
panel) will be carried out in advance. HASSDAC equipment will be energized duly
carrying out the joint inspection as per the check list issued by OEM and will be kept
under observation for 7 days before commissioning and OEM certificate will be
obtained.

High Availability Axle Counters for Block proving will be commissioned duly
taking disconnection for proving Axle Counters contacts in the Block as per the
approved circuit diagram.

There are no deviations from the extant instructions issued by Railway Board
and all provisions in Manual are adhered to. The proposed Signaling and Interlocking
arrangements are shown in Signaling plan No. IPU.0055C/Alt.3.

Principal Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer is requested to kindly


accord his sanction for the above work.
