Clue Sheet: Jack the Ripper

ROOM 1: STREET
• Team must find a coin in the corner of the room, balancing on the lip of a small ledge on
the wall to insert into the newspaper dispenser.
“Hey team! Have a look around the room for some spare change, and more specifically, at eye
level.”

• Team must read the newspaper article from the dispenser carefully to determine the
combination for the directional lock by comparing the directions that the sign posts are
pointing.
“Hey team! The article seems to be referencing the locations mentioned on the signpost. Make
sure to carefully follow the path that the killer took in the article to use with the directional lock.”
If they need more, tell them “You’ll notice the killer did not appear at one of those
locations.”
Answer:
LEFT, DOWN, RIGHT
Osborne St, Mitre Square, Castle Alley (Jack was not spotted in Miller’s Court)

• Team must press the doorbell to activate the dog bark over the speakers. The pattern of
the dog bark must be repeated on the dog door knocker to enter the barber shop.
“Hey team! When you press that button, it is giving a special secret that will help you get into the
barber shop.”
If they need more, tell them “Did you notice the knocker outside of the barbershop is in
the shape of a dog?”
Answer:
2-1-3

ROOM 2: BARBERSHOP
• Team must find a light switch on the wall next to the radio that will activate the laser
and UV light to reveal a puzzle with shapes on the wall.
“Hey team, just by the radio there on the shelf there is a light switch right above it that will reveal
some special details for you.”

• Team must rotate the mirror below so that it reflects the laser to point at UV shapes on
the wall.
“Hey team, there is a mirror that rotates there. The notches inscribed there will line up with the
shapes on the wall.”
• The team will then find that the order of the shapes is based on the numbers engraved
in the wooden rotating circle. The numbers come from shapes that are located on the
walls throughout the first room and second room.
“Hey team, Once you have determined the order of the shapes using the laser, search for those
shapes throughout the rooms to help you determine the code.”
Answer:
Circle - Star - Square - Triangle
7-4-3-1

• Using code 7431 on the lockbox on the desk in the barber shop, they will find inside it a
finger in a jar with a special ring, and a red magnifying glass. They may now use this
magnifying glass to reveal a code hidden in the mosaic in the newspaper article found in
the dispenser earlier in the game.
“Hey team, earlier you found an article with a special mosaic on it. You found a special tool that
will help reveal something in it.”
Answer:
“Your lucky word is FELON”

• Using the code FELON, the team is able to remove one of the locks on the chain that
holds the key to the next room.

• Team must solve the perspective puzzle using red X throughout the rooms.
“Hey team! You may have noticed a red X on the floor in the barbershop. While standing on it,
try locating another red X.”
If the team needs more help: “Looking through the window, you will be able to align A, B,
C, and D with the signs on the window of the shoe repair shop.”
Answer:
7-1-9-4

ROOM 3: STORAGE ROOM

• The team will find an antenna sitting atop the desk under the periodic table poster. They
must place it on top of the radio in the previous room to determine what order to put the
three bottles in. “Hey team, looks like you found an antenna there on the table by the chemical
bottles. It belongs to the radio in the barbershop (2nd room).” Radio will give them the order
of the colored jugs of chemicals. BLUE, GREEN, RED

• The three containers on the counter will have three elements on them Hg (Mercury) 80,
P (Phosphorus) 15, FR (Francium) 87. The team will have to find the atomic numbers for
each element from the periodic table above where the bottles are placed. The team will
need to use the numbers on the keypad underneath the phone in the order mentioned on
the radio.
“Hey team, use the periodic table above to determine the atomic number for each element. The
numbers might help you make contact with the killer himself!” Note: It is possible that the team
has gotten to this point without realizing there is a keypad underneath the phone in the
barbershop. If so, instruct them to its location. You might also have to instruct team to input
pound (#) at the end of the combination.
Answer:
8-0-1-5-8-7-#

• The poster on the wall referencing “Deadly Mixtures” will instruct the team on how to
concoct a terrible poison. The instructions are a bit tricky, saying “For most effective
bonding results, always begin with the ingredient of which you are using the most, then
second most, and so on.” The team will have to look at the four poison bottles in the
cabinet to determine which poison was made. “Hey team, when viewing the “Deadly
Mixtures” poster, did you notice that only one of them uses ALL of the poisons in the cabinet?”
The four bottles are listed in the order: 1.Hemlock, 2.Cyanide, 3.Arsenic, and
4.Strychnine in the poster, making a mixture known as “Netherdust”.
“Remember team, you must always begin with the ingredient of which you are using the
most, then second most and so on.”
If the team needs more help, tell them “Hey team, you must go in order from lowest
remaining amount in the bottle to highest remaining amount.”
Answer:
Cyanide - Strychnine - Hemlock - Arsenic

• At this point, the team should have been able to find all 6 wires for the “WHAT’S DONE
IS STRUNG” board. They will need to match up the correct victim to the location of the
crime and the type of weapon used.
“Hey team, you might have seen the names of those victims throughout your investigation.
Make sure you look closely for information that may time them to a location and what weapon
was used.” Note: the team might not know that they can attach the wires to one another. In that
case, let them know that they can do so.
The team might need more help with this puzzle. In the event that they do, tell them:
- “You’re going to notice in the newspaper article under the anatomical designs, Robert
was at his home when he was attacked with acid. So you would connect those 3
together using the wires.”
- “You might have noticed a “MISSING PERSON” poster in that room addressing David
Langley. He had certain items on his person when he went missing, did you happen to
find any of them anywhere? And if so, in what room did you find it?”
- “You might remember that there is an “EVIDENCE REPORT” hanging on the wall in the
street. Try reviewing it again to carefully deduce who the last victim is and what weapon
was used.”
Answer:
Robert Home Acid

David Barbershop Knife

• Once the wires are connected correctly, the blueprints on the desk will begin to light up
with a strange pattern regarding the foot prints. At the bottom of the of the blueprints is a
riddle that states:
“Hey team, when reading the riddle at the bottom of the blueprints, you will notice that it doesn’t
seem to make sense. The proper way to read it is by the order of indentation.”
If they need more, tell them If you arrange the lines properly the first two lines you read
should be “Each step from here is a numbered sign.”
Correct:
each step from here is a / numbered sign / to keep, to hold, and / unlock what’s mine
The team will have the knowledge to follow the steps from the blueprint to find numbers
throughout the game to unlock the final code.
“Hey team, so you will notice that the footprints are lighting up in a certain order. Follow the
steps starting here in the storage room to uncover your code.”
