The lights are out on stage.
JESUS (V.O.)
“My dearest, Beloved, and precious, don’t listen to
those people trying to lead you astray and give you
reasons to be distracted; more than anyone else, “I
wish above all things for you to prosper, and be in
health, as we daily take a walk together.”
(Pause)
Look at me my Love, “There’s nothing that makes me
more Glad than to see you enjoying this Reality -
that is, walking in the way of Truth - my Word!”

END OPENING MONTAGE:
CUT TO:
INT. STUDY – NIGHT
A YOUNG MAN, FRANCK, is casually dressed, sitting in a
chair bowed over a table with a phone, earpiece, and
snacks before Him. He is confused, torn, depressed, and
weeping.
MUSIC CUE: Yet - by - TRIBL

GOD (O.S.)
Hello, Child. What do you want? “Ask and it shall be
given unto you, seek and you shall find, just knock…
Cos until now you have asked nothing, ask and
receive that your joy may be full.”

FRANCK
(Aggravated)
God I don’t understand my life anymore. I’m
confused; if you’re real help me. Lord, I don’t even
know where my life is going. What’s all this? What’s
happening with me?

GOD (O.S.)
Ok, Child; I’ve heard your heart’s cry and I’m
excited to help; thank you so much for asking.

HOLY SPIRIT (O.C.)

I mean, I’ve been waiting the longest time for you
to use my help, and now finally!
(Moves gently towards Franck. Lovingly)
So, you want answers?!
(Pause)
With clarity?!
(Pause)
No more confusion or anxiety?! You want purpose and
a great life. I’ll give it all to you right now. So,
where do we start?

FRANCK
(With piercing eyes, looks up into the horizon)
From the beginning; from the beginning Lord, cos I
really feel empty, most of the time.

HOLY SPIRIT
Ok, so basically, In Genesis 1:1 it is written, “In
the beginning God created the heavens and the
earth…”

FRANCK
(Interrupts Holy Spirit)
Woaaah! Woaaah! Wait, I don’t have time to go
through the Bible. All I want is answers, cos I’m
confused; I’m kinda depressed, you know. I’m not at
rest, I’m like a roaring sea, so I need something
like…I don’t know, but something more than
Scriptures - like…
(Becomes vexed)
I don’t know.

HOLY SPIRIT
Yeah, I know you don’t; that’s why you’re
struggling. “That’s why my people perish”. It says,

“Great peace have those who love the Scriptures and

nothing shall make them anxious.”
(Sighs)
How else do you want to be helped, Franck?

FRANCK
(Tough tone)
All I’m saying is…
(Lowers his tone and humbles his countenance)
I need urgent help: you’re God, right? Just give me
healing and happiness; maybe after that I can try
reading the Bible. Just give me Peace first.

HOLY SPIRIT
Son! That’s exactly what I wanna do if you’ll let
me: it says, “He sends His word and heals them and
delivers them from all their troubles…” that’s
exactly why we’re I’m prescribing you Scripture
medication.

FRANCK
(Looks up hopefully)
Well, I know! But let’s just keep trying other
things first. I can fast and prayer and cry instead:
let’s wake up at night when I’m unable to sleep, and
cry and beg God, then sleep off while begging God;
maybe He’ll take me seriously and help out.

HOLY SPIRIT
You know what it says, “In the beginning was the
Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God.” Your help starts and ends with reading the
Scriptures. I wish help could come any other way,
but your help is in the Scriptures.

FRANCK
(Hesitates)
Yeah, but…

(Puts his hands over his face)

I don’t know.

HOLY SPIRIT
Exactly! Exactly! That’s exactly it says; “They know
not neither do they understand, they walk on in
darkness…therefore they perish like ordinary people”
(Pause)
But you’re not ordinary Franck.

FRANCK
Well, my friends said there’re videos they’ve been
watching on tiktok, and some podcasts, and some
novels, and some comedy, and some memes, you know;
and some other stuff that helps them laugh abit and
forget about their problems for abit.
(Pause)
Well, I think I’ll go for that; it’s just more, it’s
just uhm…, it’s just more entertaining, you know.

HOLY SPIRIT
Listen, It says “You’ve got to tell them no, tell
them we will study the scriptures instead.”

FRANCK
I think I can just watch preaching videos online
then – at least they quote some Bible verses there.
Like Tiktok, or Instagram, YouTube; I think those
Shorts touch me more. Even the other time when I
tried doing the right thing and even taking Church
more seriously, it didn’t work. At least when I’m
not doing right, those Tiktok short preaching help;
I Just don’t like reading – it’s not my thing.

HOLY SPIRIT
Franck!
(Pause)

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but the

end ain’t all that fun.” Think about it, Son.
(Pause)
It’s very simple, it says from Matthew that “You
only make those mistakes in the first place because
you do not know the Scriptures.”

FRANCK
(Reflects and strokes his fingers through his hair)
Well, I’ll pass.
(Pause)
I think I’ll just look for worship songs that’ll
make me cry and feel near to God.
(Sighs)

GOD (O.S.)
(Weeps in a still small voice)
“My Child you are perishing, messed up, and
struggling only because of lack of knowledge. It’s
only one thing; it’s simply because you have
rejected knowledge…you have forgotten my Word”
(Exhales with despair)
Go read your Bible.

FRANCK
(Screams up to heaven and bursts out crying)
Oh God help me! You see what I am saying: even when
I try worshipping I keep hearing these voices in my
head and I don’t know if it’s God or my mind. How do
I know?

BEGIN CLOSING MONTAGE:
INT. STUDY – CONT’D
FRANCK sits on the floor holding up his legs against his
face. His phone is on the floor and earpiece on his
knees. He is confused, torn, depressed, and weeping.

JESUS (V.O.)
“My sheep hear my voice, and they follow me, and I
know them… I am the way, the Truth, and the Life… My
Word is Truth…”
(Beat)
Child, “Study to show yourself approved as mine.”;
“Blessed and enviable is the man who falls in love
with my Word”; “Meditate in it, Give yourself
completely to it, and you’ll see…”
(Beat)
“I made them write the Scriptures all so that you
could learn from it.” and not only that “But also
for your Comfort, Confidence, and Hope.”
(Beat)
