TA5
1. Which communication style (relationship-focused or work-focused) do you prefer
when meeting people for the first time? Why?
I prefer a relationship-focused communication style when meeting new people. This
helps build trust and creates a comfortable environment. It also makes teamwork
easier in the future. However, in professional settings, a work-focused approach may
be more efficient.
2. What is one advantage and one possible disadvantage of your own personal style?
One advantage of my personal style is that I can easily connect with others and build
strong relationships. However, a possible disadvantage is that I sometimes spend too
much time on conversations instead of focusing on tasks.
3. How useful and/or problematic is it to have people in a group or team who are
very different to each other? Why?
Having diverse people in a team is useful because it brings new ideas and different
perspectives. It can lead to more creative solutions and better decision-making.
However, it can also cause conflicts if team members do not understand each other’s
ways of working.
4. Who do you prefer to work with - people who are similar to you or very different?
Why?
I prefer working with people who are different from me because I can learn new
things from them. They challenge my ideas and help me grow. However, working
with similar people can sometimes be easier because we think alike.
5. How effective is the team or group? Why?
My team is quite effective because we communicate well and support each other. We
share responsibilities and respect different opinions. However, sometimes we face
challenges when making decisions quickly.
6. What advice and/or support would help the team to be even more effective?
To improve the team’s effectiveness, we should set clearer goals and improve time
management. Regular feedback and open discussions can also help us work better
together.
7. What advice lone ideal would you give yourself about how to support the team
better?
I would advise myself to listen more and be more patient with different opinions.
Supporting my teammates and offering help when needed will also make the team
stronger.
8. “In business, it’s better to act neutrally and not show your feelings.”
- Advantage: This approach helps maintain professionalism and avoids unnecessary
conflicts. It also makes decision-making more logical and fair.
- Disadvantage: It can make communication feel cold and create distance between
team members. People may also find it hard to build trust.
9. “It’s better not to hide your feelings when talking about work-related topics.”
- Advantage: Expressing feelings can improve teamwork and build stronger
relationships. It helps solve problems faster because people understand each other
better.
- Disadvantage: If emotions are not controlled, they can cause misunderstandings and
conflicts. It may also lead to unprofessional behavior in stressful situations.
