Pattern
Start
Cast on 65 (69) 81 (89) 105 sts on needle no. 4 (3.5 mm) with two strands of yarn held together.
Knit ribbing (p1, k1) + p1. First row is WS.
Knit ribbing until the work measures 1” (2 cm).
Switch to needle no. 6 (4 mm) and now knit grafting back and forth until the piece, including the
edge, measures 4” (41/4”) 4½” (5”) 5½” or 10 (11) 12 (13) 14 cm. Do please notice that the first and
last st on the row is knit on all rows and are kept outside the pattern (edge sts). Finish with a WS
row.
Grafted pattern
1. Row (RS): *k1, sl1p(b) * repeat *_* to last st, k1.
2. Row (WS): *k1, sl1p(f) * repeat *_* to last st, k1.
3. Row (RS): k across.
4, Row (WS): p across.
Closing the neck
On the next row (RS) k across, gather your work and now knit 1 round of stockinette st.
Remember to place a marker at the start of the round.
Now start decreasing:
1st round: [k2, k2tog] 16 (17) 20 (22) 26 times, k1 = 49 (52) 61 (67) 79 sts on the needle.
2-4th round: k across.
5th round: [k1, k2tog] 16 (17) 20 (22) 26 times, k1 = 33 (35) 41 (45) 53 sts on the needle.
6-7th round: k across.
8th round: [k2tog] 16 (17) 20 (22) 26 times, k1 = 17 (18) 21 (23) 27 sts on the needle.
9th round: k across.
10th round: [k2tog] 8 (8) 10 (11) 13 times, k1 (2) 1 (1) 1 = 9 (10) 11 (12) 14 sts on the needle.
11th round: k across.
12th round: [k2tog] 4 (5) 5 (6) 7 times, k1 (0) 1 (0) 0 = 5 (5) 6 (6) 7 sts on the needle.
Thread a needle with the yarn and pull it through the last sts. Tighten and weave in ends on the
WS.

Icord and edge
Cast on using 2 strands of yarn, 3 sts on needle no. 4 (3.5 mm) and k.
*Move to the opposite end of the needle, so that the thread is now hanging in the rear st.
Pull the thread forward and k the sts. *
Repeat *_* until the string measures approx. 8” (20 cm).
Now, with another needle no 4 (3.5 mm), pick up sts along the neck all the way from front band to
front band.
Skip every 4 sts when you pick up sts.
Now knit the hem like this:
k2 from the string, sl next st, now knit 1 st from the needle with sts for the neck and pass the loose
st from the needle with the string over this. Put the st back on to the left needle.
Continue like this with the hem:
*k2, sl 1 kw, k1. Put the sts back on to the left needle* and repeat *_* until all the sts of the neck is
knit. Now continue with a regular icord by knitting over the last 3 sts like the first string. Cast off
when the string measures the same as the other.
Assembling
Weave in all ends and wash according to the instructions to the yarn.
Happy knitting!
