Description
As a member of the Risk Data Management team, the analyst is primarily responsible for performing validation
process to ensure the completeness, accuracy and timeliness in the data used for risk metric generation
across Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk. Additionally, the analyst is expected to answer to the
extended scope of projects, audit requirements, ad hoc requests and expansion of the team’s responsibilities
and mandate in the risk infrastructure area.
Key Accountabilities
• Diligently perform the daily BFG MRNG data validation checks set out by the Risk Data Management team
• Actively participate in the daily huddle to raise and track any issues raised in the validation process
• Enhance and improve the efficiency, sustainability and ad hoc adaptability of the BFG MRNG Daily
Checklist
• Execute instructions and directions in full to complete the required tasks for the set-out timelines
• Develop, review and document any new repeatable process added to the data validation work stream
• Liaise timely with the stakeholders across Market Risk and the Enterprise in efforts to ensure data lineage is
properly accounted for and implemented in the MRNG system
• Leveraging existing issue tracking technology to comprehensively track issues raised by RDM
• Assist and collaborate in new and revised initiatives, reports and projects
• Manage the stakeholder requests, audit requirements and issues proficiently, professionally and
expeditiously
• Proactively assist and support the functions and tasks of the team
Qualifications
a) Knowledge:
• 1-3 years of relevant financial industry experience in regulatory reporting, data reconciliation or related role
preferred
• Knowledge of different financial instruments and Greeks
• Knowledge of different Value at Risk methodologies
• In-depth knowledge of SQL, VBA and Excel formulas
• Prior SDLC experience with JIRA is preferred
• Prior academic or business Python coding experience would be an asset
• Understanding of Enterprise Risk Management key policies and infrastructure would be an asset
b) Skills:
Description
As a member of the Market Data Management team, the manager is responsible for overseeing the validation of the data
used for risk metric generation across Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk daily. The manager is expected to work
on new initiatives to support various data requests from Market Risk, Front Office, Model Validation etc. The manager is
also expected to take on additional management projects, audit requirements and ad hoc requests.
Key Accountabilities
• The successful candidate will engage several groups in the organization to facilitate different initiative such as
incorporating new products and special projects in the Bank's VaR framework.
• Design and develop tools for automation.
• Ensure the appropriate data “cleaning” and data “scrubbing” rules (either in-house or third-party vendors) have been
appropriately defined and implemented.
• Ensure that data is provisioned to comply with specified requirements of risk and valuation models.
• Perform gap analysis, review, and generate solutions/methodologies for gap-filling/data imputation.
• Perform analysis of differences between internal and external data sources
• Controls on use of third party data are implemented to ensure usage of market data is consistent with third-party
vendor contracts.

requirements and legislative/ regulatory directives and guidance.
• Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.

Qualifications:
• Typically 9+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of
study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or related
field of study preferred.
• Completion of a Security related certification preferred (e.g. CISSP, CISA, CISM, GIAC).
