Waste Management Procedure
1. Purpose
To establish a systematic approach for the segregation, handling, storage, transportation, and
disposal of waste to minimize environmental impact, ensure legal compliance, and promote
sustainability.
2. Scope
This procedure applies to all waste generated during office operations, field inspections, training
sessions, and administrative tasks, including general, recyclable, hazardous, and electronic waste.

4. Waste Categories & Handling Procedures
A. General Waste
Examples: Food wrappers, used tissues, packaging
Action: Dispose of in general waste bins
Disposal: Collected by approved waste contractor
B. Recyclable Waste
Examples: Paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, cans
Action: Segregate into labeled recycling bins
Disposal: Sent to licensed recycling facility
C. Hazardous Waste
Examples: Batteries, fluorescent tubes, expired chemicals
Action: Store in designated hazardous waste containers
Disposal: Collected and treated by licensed hazardous waste handler
D. Electronic Waste (E-waste)
Examples: Computers, printers, projectors, cables
Action: Store securely; do not mix with general waste
Disposal: Returned to supplier or certified e-waste recycler
5. Waste Storage and Collection
Use color-coded and clearly labeled bins
Keep waste containers covered and in designated areas
Schedule regular waste pickup by authorized contractors
