PhD incorporating a brief background, specific objectives, and methodologies. *
Research Topic: My interest in Transportation Materials. Specially on Asphalt or Bitumen and
its property. Improve the property of bitumen with various admixtures like Rubber, Plastic,
Coconut coir, Cement.
Transportation is one of the major part of communication. For any kind of movement which can
materials for construction or goods or anything need good communication system. Good road
surface provide safe and sound movement. For that bitumen is the material which plays
important role.
In Bangladesh maximum length of movement cover by road network. Recently road surface
become a major issue for our country. Low quality imported bitumen and production limitation
harm our road networks. To solve this issue modified bitumen can help.

Specific Objectives: Development of Bitumen Properties by Using Different Admixtures in


Bangladesh - "Comparison between Local Available Bitumen and Modified Bitumen"

enhance your capabilities and be useful for the human recourse development in Bangladesh, and

1. Reduce erosion of the surface and long service available.
2. Low maintenances, save money and time
3. Different type of modified bitumen for different type of area and
region. For Economic:
1. Modified Bitumen reduce the amount of imported bitumen. that save money.
2. Improve economy by recycling the waste like rubber, plastic. In 2018-2019 Bangladesh
imported 220707 million dollar worth plastic [According to BD Statistics, 2019]
3. Local bitumen production facilities can cover the annual demand of
bitumen. For Environment:
1. Waste management by recycling the plastic, rubber.
2. No need to use sand for filler material. it harm the environment. It causes various diseases for
human, children's.
3. Plastic bottles don't decompose, harm the wild life.
4. Burning the plastic harm the atmosphere. Shredding the plastic reduce it.

Additional Knowledge i want to gather from this degree, i want to help people to understand the
environment. How can we reduce the pollution by recycling the plastic waste. How can I
improve the properties of bitumen so that roads can safe for each and everyone in Bangladesh. If
I do that Bangladesh, economy may be little but it grows up.
