This little zippered pouch is just the right size for carrying art supplies, and doubles as a clutch for a night out. The invisible zipper is easy to insert using Invisible Zipper Foot #35. Supplies Two fat quarters for bag and lining (sample uses Rainforest Triple-Dyed Balis from Benartex) Scraps for patchwork Invisible Zipper, 12 or longer 80/12 Universal sewing needle Sewing thread to coordinate with fabrics Reverse Pattern Foot #1/1C/1D or Clear Foot 34 Quilting/Seam Guide (optional) Invisible Zipper Foot #35 101 Quilt Basting Spray Rotary cutter, mat, and clear ruler Iron BERNINA Sewing Machine Cutting Instructions Using a rotary cutter, mat and ruler cut the following: Main Fabric: One 10 x 17 rectangle Lining Fabric: One 10 x 22 rectangle Scraps: Five assorted 3 x 3 squares Two 2 x 10 strips

Patchwork Using seam allowances, join the five squares into a strip. Press seam allowances open. Trim to 10 wide, centering the middle square, using a rotary cutter & ruler. Stitch the two 10 strips to the patchwork strip, one at the upper edge, one at the lower edge. Press seam allowances open.

Stitch the patchwork rectangle to one 10 end of the main fabric rectangle. Press seam allowances open.

Construction Using 101 Quilt Basting Spray, baste outer fabric panel to lining, wrong sides together. Trim edges even if needed. This will now be treated as one piece of fabric.

Unzip zipper about 5 (this will create an opening to turn the bag through). Stitch the sides of the bag. Turn right side out through zipper opening. Attach Invisible Zipper Foot #35 to the machine. Unzip the zipper. With right sides together, place the right side of the zipper tape along one 10 end of the fabric rectangle. Move the coils open and insert into the groove in the right side of the foot. Stitch, back stitching at both ends.

Repeat for the left side of the zipper, placing the coils in the groove in the left side of the foot.

Close zipper. Fold bag so that the patchwork rectangle is centered in the middle. Pin sides.
