CHAPTER 1
There was a boy named George. He was a
brilliant and clever boy. Children remarked
that they enjoyed their time with him and
liked his personality.
George and his best friend Jim got into trouble
at school, but it only strengthened their bond.
Despite George being social, he discreetly
kept their goals to themselves. Despite
George's talkative nature, they both
consistently earned near-perfect scores in
every subject. George and Jim’s tricks were
daring, funny, and tickled everyone’s fantasy.
Both boys detested their scoldings but
enjoyed the fun and laughter in the tricks.
The dyad of the two was inseparable and
loved playing tricks. They both went to the
same boarding school. Their parents were
friends too, and they always visited each
other for Sunday lunch in their holidays. They
were inseparable both inside and outside
classes. As soon as a teacher would enter,
they would be greeted by a group of boys
sitting on the back benches, all chattering and
giggling, and the two troublemakers would be
amidst the din. Outside their classes, they
would play comical tomfooleries. They kept
everyone in their dormy watchful and vigilant
for any symptom of a trick from any of the
two or any weird appearances in the dorm.
These symptoms would often come in the
form of voluminous coughing and sneezing by
any of them, or a sudden outburst of laughter.
But often, the tricks would make everyone
explode with mirth.
CHAPTER 3
Well, we’re back in the present again! So that
was one of the tricks that the two played. One
placid and tranquil day, Jim and George were
sauntering in their school park, after being
given permission by the teachers. This was
because their class had a free period. In free
periods, kids were allowed to do whatever
they wanted. Yes, literally whatever they
wanted. And they chose to saunter in the
park.
While doing this, Jim had an idea for a new
trick. He whispered it to George. They
immediately put it into action. In the French
class, Jim went up to the teacher and said that
there was a spider in his (Jim’s) desk. The
teacher herself was SO scared of spiders that
she asked somebody else to help. Suddenly
and abruptly, George screamed. When he was
asked why he interrupted the class in such a
rude way, he said: ‘Ma’am, I just saw a spider
under my chair! You can’t blame me for
screaming in fear!’.
‘Yes, yes, I agree! Now nobody scream! I will
call the cleaners and they shall run a full
search of this room!’ she replied, in a panic.
Chapter 4
Jim and George snickered beneath their
tables, pretending to look for something. They
even passed notes to each other. Yes, this was
a thing in those times!!
George winked and Jim got up. Nobody said
anything because they were too preoccupied
in looking for the spider. Jim scurried to the
cupboard in which lost things were kept. It
was near the French teacher’s bag. He
pretended to take something and keep it in
his OWN bag. LITERALLY NOBODY NOTICED!! I
mean, HOW STUPID OF THE TEACHER IS
THAT?? Yes, we know. IT’S THE STUPIDEST
THING IN THE STUPID WORLD THAT A STUPID
PERSON WHO WAS STUPID COULD DO.
Anyway, let’s not criticise the poor lady! BACK
TO THE TRICK!!
So, Jim was just standing exactly beside the
teacher’s bag. He took out a thingamajiggy
from his bag and put it in the teacher’s bag.
You see, it wasn’t exactly a thingamajig, it
was just a box which had, like, paint or
something on it? We don’t know and we’re not
gonna give you spoilers. Sorry! So let’s start
again. So, Jim was just standing exactly
beside the teacher’s bag. He took out a box
from his bag and put it in her (the teacher’s)
bag.
TEN MINUTES LATER (when the room had
been searched)
“MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION, KIDS? Oh, OK,
thanks. Now, take out your WorkBooks and
open page number…… yeah, there it is, page
number 29,” said the teacher in her most
official manner, and at the same time groping
in her bag, looking for her own WorkBook. She
first took out a pencil. She shook her head
and kept it back in. The same happened with
a Permanent Marker.
Then she found the BOX which Jim had kept in
her bag. She took it out, and opened it,
expecting to see something that she had
forgotten, but the moment she opened it, a
spider jumped!! She went out of the room as
fast as lightning, bellowing as loudly as she
could while doing it: ‘SPIDER! SPIDER! RUN!
IT’S SO SCARY! GET OUT OF THE CLASSROOM
EVERYONE!’. And she just went out of the
room!!
The classroom stared at each other for a
second and then it hit them with a loud
“PING!”. The two mischief makers, or, as the
whole school knew them, THE MIZZCHIEF
MAKERZZ, had played a trick.
They erupted into laughter, some crying, and
some leaning against the walls for support.
Did you not get it? Well, here is the thing: The
box which Jim put into the teacher’s bag
contained a PLASTIC SPIDER!!!!
