Tracking Options
The Types field in Property Class allows the options regarding Tracking facility.

TRACKING – Certain types of Property (For example, interest conditions) may be defined at the product level. The arrangements of that
product track the product definition and do not require any definition at the arrangement level. If TRACKING is specified, then a Property of this
class can be defined as TRACKING, CUSTOM.TRACKING or NON-TRACKING in the product definition.
NON.TRACKING - Indicates that the Properties belonging to this class should only have fixed link behaviour, that is, these Properties cannot
have CUSTOM.TRACKING or TRACKING link to the arrangement.
TRACKING.ONLY - Indicates that the Properties of this class can only have tracking behaviour. In addition, the Properties of this class should
be stated as PRODUCT.ONLY in AA.PROPERTY.

Delayed Tracking

For existing arrangements, customer notification can be sent a minimum number of days prior to a change in the tracking product condition for
charge or pricing rules.

A parameter in AA Product Designer allows the user to specify a certain number of days by which the tracking of a specific condition is delayed for
existing arrangements to provide time and notify the customers in advance for Properties belonging to a Property Class. For new arrangements, the
same tracking Product Condition takes effect immediately.

Two attributes are available in AA.PRODUCT.DESIGNER table that allows the user to specify the number of days by which the tracking of condition is
delayed to take effect for properties belonging to a Property Class.

NOTE: Tracking period could be in days or months or weeks or years . If tracking period is specified then the corresponding property class must be
tracking

Period - It specifies the number of days until which the product changes do not affect the existing arrangements. The period specified is applicable
only for the Property Class specified in associated Property Class field. It accepts numeric characters between 1 and 99.

Property Class - It is a multi-value attribute that specifies the property classes for which the product changes is delayed by the period specified in
Period field.

Only Charge, Periodic Charge and Pricing Rules are supported.

It is an optional field. If it is left blank, the Period is applied for all the three supported property classes of Charge, Periodic Charge and Pricing
Rules.
When Tracking Effective Period is defined, during the proofing and publishing process, if the condition effective date is in the future and the
number of days to condition effective date is less than days defined in Period, the change condition activity is scheduled for Today’s date +
Tracking Effective Period.

EXAMPLE: Consider that a condition is future dated 5 days from today’s date and the tracking effective period is 30 days, then the change
happens from , Today + 30 days.

NOTE: The system does the track changes only for the defined Property Class in product designer. If left blank, the Period specified will not be
applied for all supported Property Classes.

There is no delay introduced in the following cases:

When Tracking Effective period is not specified

When condition date is less than today’s date
When condition date is greater than today’s date + tracker effective period. For example, condition date is 40 days from today and tracker
effective period is 30 days, then no delay is further introduced.

Illustration

The following steps demonstrate the Tracking Options feature available in Product Designer.

Tracking Options allow the user to introduce a delay in days for change in tracking product condition to take effect in existing arrangements, while
new arrangements track the condition immediately.

Consider a product with a tracking fixed fee of ‘3’ and the Tracking Options are left empty initially. When the user changes the product condition to a
tracking fixed charge of 5, the change is reflected immediately.

In the same case, if a delay of one day (for the purpose of illustration) is introduced in tracking options for Charge Property Class.

A new arrangement is created and it immediately reflects the change in the tracking charge condition.

The existing arrangement (AA17107S1SV0) that was created initially did not track the change in the charge condition as a delay of one day was
introduced for existing arrangements.

After a COB when the system date changes from 17th Apr to 18th Apr, the arrangement condition for charge in AA17107S1SV0 is also updated after a
delay of one day.
