“Regardless of the circumstances

in which you were born. You are

not an accident. Your mother
could have a miscarriage. You
could have been stillborn. Many
things could have happened. Yet,
YOU happened.”
You were born.
You grew up.
You are who you are now.
Every life is a gift and the same
true is yours. YOU HAVE A
PURPOSE IN LIFE.
Embracing Purpose:
Navigating Life with Meaning
and Fulfillment
PURPOSE
• the central aim or intention
that motivates and directs
one's actions and decisions.
Discovering Your Purpose
A. SELF-REFLECTION
•What activities or experiences bring me the
most joy and fulfillment?
•What values and principles do I hold most
dear?
•When do I feel most alive and engaged in life?
•What impact do I want to have on the world
around me?
B. EXPLORE PASSION AND INTERESTS
• Explore a wide range of activities,
hobbies, and interests to uncover
what resonates most to you. This
could involve trying out new
hobbies, attending workshops or
events, or exploring different career
paths.
C. IDENTIFY STRENGTHS
• identify your unique strengths,
talents, and abilities.
• Understanding one's strengths can
provide valuable insights into
potential areas of purpose and
fulfillment.
D. CLARIFY VALUES
• Values serve as guiding principles
that shape our decisions, actions,
and priorities in life.
• reflect on what matters most to
you, what you stand for, and what
you believe in.
E. SEEK INSPIRATION
• seek inspiration from various
sources, including books, articles,
podcasts, and conversations with
mentors or role models. Hearing
others' stories of purpose and
impact can spark insights and
ideas for your own journey.
F. EXPERIMENT AND TAKE ACTION
• take small steps towards your
goals, even if you're unsure of the
outcome.
• Purpose often emerges through
action and experimentation, and
it's okay to course-correct along
the way.
G. REFLECT AND ITERATE
• Regularly reflect on your experiences, insights,
and lessons learned along the way.
• Reflection allows individuals to gain clarity,
refine their understanding of purpose, and
adjust their actions accordingly.
• Celebrate your successes and learn from your
setbacks, recognizing that each experience
brings valuable lessons.
Dig deeper into your heart, ask
yourself, “What is my purpose in
life?”

Answer it in 2-3 paragraphs.

Personal Mission Statement
MISSION
• A specific task, goal, or purpose that an
individual, organization, or group sets out
to achieve.
• Represents a commitment to a particular
cause or direction, providing a sense of
direction and meaning to the endeavors of
the individual or organization.
DEFINING YOUR MISSION STATEMENT
(Forbes Coaches Council)
• Choose your path. People are not meant to
travel on the same path. Everyone has a
road that belongs to him.
• “Make sure it addresses not just desires for
material well-being and prosperity, but more
importantly, your humanity—who you are and
what you stand for, as well as what you are
willing to fight for or walk away from.”
• Aim high. Your mission statement must
push you to become the best that you can
possibly make yourself.
• “If you merely strive to maintain the status
quo, you’ll hardly succeed in pushing yourself
beyond where you are currently. Therefore, be
sure to include your vision of excellence and
how you can meaningfully impact the lives of
others by leveraging your knowledge, skills,
and abilities.”—Karima Mariama-Arthur
• Be honest to yourself and to the future that
you desire. Your mission statement should
be an expression of who you truly are. It
should differentiate you from others if you
happen to be in a room with other people of
equal qualifications.
• Find your core. “Set aside time to answer
key questions related to past and future
success: Who are you? Who are you
becoming? Why do you work? (in your
case, why do you study?) What is your
cause, purpose, or destiny?
• Write your own obituary. It will help you
come face to face with what really matters
in the end. How would you want people to
remember you?
• Define the impact you want to have. What
kind of impact do you want to make on
people and to the world?

• Envision the future you want to have and

stay focused on it. Your mission statement
is what you are working towards and what
life will look like for you, once you finally
arrive.
• Break down your statement. Break it down
into verb—target—outcome.

• Example:
Verb: Continually learn new skills
Target: Self (I)
Outcome: Constant personal growth.
• Keep it short. Keep it simple…

• You already know your mission. Many times,

you have already begun living what you were
meant to be.

• List your wishes and plans and ask “Why?”

asking why you have this wish or that plan will
help you understand what it is that drives you,
consequently helping you form a meaningful
mission statement.
• Be clear on what your values, vision, mission
and purpose are. Having clear ideas of what
these will facilitate the way you make decisions,
handle crises, and so on.

• Be honest. Unless your personal mission is

immoral, there are no wrong mission
statements. Acknowledge the unique you when
you craft your mission statements.
