Note:
• Extra premiums may be added to the standard premiums if the presented risk is larger than the
standard risk.
• In addition to the premium, a stamp duty of RM10 is payable to the Government. This stamp duty is
payable each year on the policy anniversary.
• The premium is likely to remain the same. However, we reserve the right to change it in line with the
applicable premium at the time of renewal.
• The premium amount payable is subject to the applicable tax imposed by the Government of Malaysia
at the prevailing rate.

DEFINITION OF BENEFITS
Benefits Definitions
Accidental Death and • If you/your child has an accident and suffer any one of the following
Dismemberment Benefit losses within 365 days of this accident:
a) Loss of life – the total amount of cover (as shown in the Table of
Benefits) will be paid.
b) Dismemberment or loss – based on the severity of your/your
child’s injuries, you will receive a percentage of the total amount
of cover (as shown in the Table of Benefits). For a list of the
injuries covered and the percentages that apply, see the ‘Schedule
of Indemnities for Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit’
in this flyer.
c) Permanent total disability – you will receive the total amount of
cover (as shown in the Table of Benefits), if, after 12 months of
your/your child’s accident, you/your child is still unable to do any
of the following:
i) Any job that you are qualified for by your education or are
trained/experienced in; or
ii) Perform three or more of the following ‘Activities of Daily
Living’:
• Getting in and out of a chair without requiring physical
assistance;
• Being able to move from room to room without requiring
any physical assistance;
• Being able to voluntarily control bowel and bladder
functions to maintain personal hygiene;
• Putting on and taking off all necessary items of clothing
without requiring the assistance of another person;
• Being able to wash in the bath or shower (including getting
in or out of the bath or shower), or wash by any other
means; and
• All tasks of getting food into the body once it has been
prepared.
Item c) (i) is not applicable to Juvenile Plan.

Double Living Benefit • If you/your child has an accident and suffer any one of the following
losses within 365 days of this accident, you will receive this benefit
in one cash payment provided Accidental Death and Dismemberment
Benefit (as described on page 1 of this flyer) is paid or payable.
• Permanent total loss of sight of both eyes or one eye
• Loss of or the permanent total loss of use of two limbs or one limb
• Permanent total loss of speech and hearing
• Permanent and incurable insanity
• Permanent total paralysis
• Permanent total disability (as described in Item (c) of Accidental
Death and Dismemberment Benefit)

Medical Reimbursement • You will be reimbursed for the medical and surgical expenses, such
Benefit (per accident) as inpatient and outpatient treatment by a Registered Medical
Practitioner or Surgeon, within 52 weeks of your/your child’s

accident, up to the amount shown in Table of Benefits for each
accident.
• You will be refunded up to RM 500 for each accident for any
alternative treatment received within 90 days of your/your child’s
accident subject to the balance of the Medical Reimbursement
Benefit, provided you/your child has first consulted a Registered
Medical Practitioner. These treatments include Acupuncture,
Bonesetting, Chiropractic Therapy, Osteopathy and Physiotherapy.
• Registered Medical Practitioner or Surgeon is a person who is legally
authorised in the geographical area of his/her vocation to practice
medicine and surgery. He/she must be qualified by degree in western
medicine, and must not be related to you as your AIA agent, business
partner(s), employer or employee, immediate family member or
policyholder for this plan.

Weekly Indemnity Benefit • If you sustain Temporary Total Disability within 90 days of your
(applicable to Adult Plan accident, you will receive the amount shown in the Table of Benefits
only) each week for a maximum of 52 weeks for each accident.
• Temporary Total Disability means you are: -
a) wholly and continuously disabled and
b) prevented from doing any duty pertaining to your usual
occupation.
• If you sustain Temporary Partial Disability within 90 days of your
accident, you will receive 25% of the amount shown in the Table of
Benefits each week for a maximum of 52 weeks for each accident.
• Temporary Partial Disability means you are: -
a) partially and continuously disabled and
b) wholly and continuously prevented from doing one or more
duties pertaining to your usual occupation.
• This benefit will not be paid to you if you are eligible for the
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit (as described on page
2 of this flyer) and/or Double Living Benefit (as described above).
• If we were made to pay this Benefit ahead of Accidental Death and
Dismemberment Benefit (as described on page 1 of this flyer) and/
or Double Living Benefit (as described above), any amount previously
paid will be deducted from the larger benefit payable due to the same
accident under the Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit (as
described on page 2 of this flyer) and/or Double Living Benefit (as
described above).

Payor Benefit (applicable to • If you have an accident and suffer loss of life or permanent total
Juvenile Plan only) disability as defined in Item c) (i) & (ii) under Accidental Death and
Dismemberment Benefit within 365 days from the accident date, we
shall, subject to terms and provisions as stated in the policy contract,
waive the premiums payable under this plan. The first premium
so waived shall be the one falling due immediately after the date
on which such accidental death occurs or commencement of such
permanent total disability.

Benefits Definitions
• Acceptance of waiver of premium shall not affect other benefits, i.e.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit, Double Living Benefit
and Medical Reimbursement Benefit, and the policy shall continue in
force as if the premium waived have been duly paid.
• No change in the plan or in the mode of premium payments on the
policy may be made during the continuance of your disability.
• This benefit shall automatically be terminated in accordance to the
“Termination of Insurance” and “Cancellation” Clauses as stated in
the policy contract.

Anniversary Bonus • On the first and second anniversary of your/your child’s policy,
you/your child will receive a special 50% Anniversary Bonus on
the amount of cover for the Accidental Death and Dismemberment
Benefit.
• This bonus will be added to the amount of cover for the Accidental
Death and Dismemberment Benefit, and is applicable for the first and
second anniversary during the lifetime of your/your child’s policy.

Conversion Privilege • In the event that your child’s policy shall end on the earliest of the
(applicable to Juvenile Plan following date as a result of any of the following:
only) • the policy anniversary immediately following your child’s 23rd
birthday or
• your child gets married or
• your child becomes gainfully employed,
your child’s coverage may at our discretion and subject to the
prevailing procedure and requirement then in force, continues to
be in force by converting into Twin PA – Adult Plan, provided the
following are received by us within 30 days before the termination
date of this policy:-
i) a written application for conversion by you and your child
ii) a Request For Change Form to change the ownership from you to
your child
iii) appropriate premiums (include premiums in arrears if any under
this policy) for the converted plan
iv) policy contract for Twin PA – Juvenile Plan is to be returned to us
for endorsement
• The vested Anniversary Bonus (if any) on your child shall be carried
forward to the converted plan. The Payor Benefit (as described
above) shall be deleted upon conversion.
• The Conversion Privilege shall automatically cease and be of no effect
if not exercised in accordance with the requirement mentioned above
within the 30 days timeframe stated above.

• We have sole discretion in determining the percentage of compensation payable for any permanent
and total disability not described above.
• If you/your spouse/your child is left-handed, the percentage of benefits payable for the various
disabilities of the right hand and left hand will be swapped.
• Compensation will be paid for one loss only. If there are several losses from the same accident, the
amount paid will be for the greatest of the losses. The maximum compensation payable is 100% of
the total amount of cover under the Accident Living Benefit.

Eligibility
For Juvenile Plan: Child from one month to 15 years of age, inclusive. Renewable up to the age of 23,
provided the child is unmarried and unemployed.

For Adult Plan: Adult from 16 to 70 years of age, inclusive, and of Occupation Class 1 to 4. For foreigner,
he/she must has a valid work permit and of occupation class 1 and 2. Renewable up to the age of 75.

A brief description of the occupation class is as follows:


Class 1 – White collar workers in non-hazardous industry and confined within the office premises.
Class 2 – Workers overseeing or superintending, engineer, supervisor of non-manual work with semi-
hazardous industry.
Class 3 – Skilled or semi-skilled workers using light machinery.
Class 4 – Industrial workers using machinery or unskilled workers.
Classifications are based on the job duties performed by you. Your actual occupation class will be
determined by us.

Change of Occupation
You must notify us in writing if you change your occupation. We will then look at your new occupation to
determine, for insurance purposes, whether it is still within the insurable occupation classes for this plan.

Cover
Your/Your child’s cover starts from the date on which your completed and signed application form is
approved by us and when we have received the appropriate premium.

Your/Your child’s cover is subject to the terms and conditions stated in the policy contract and is
renewable once a year on the anniversary of your/your child’s policy. For a copy of the policy contract,
please talk to your AIA agent, call the AIA Care Line at 1300 88 1899 or visit any AIA branch. You will find

For Adult Plan: Your cover shall automatically end on the earliest of the following dates:
• the end of the 31-day grace period for any unpaid premium;
• the policy anniversary immediately following your 75th birthday;
• the total amount covered by Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit or Permanent Total
Disability Benefit and/or
Double Living Benefit has either been paid or is payable by us to you;
• upon your death; or
• the cancellation of the policy on your or our request.

For Juvenile Plan: Your child’s cover shall automatically end on the earliest of the following dates:
• the end of the 31-day grace period for any unpaid premium;
• the policy anniversary immediately following your child’s 23rd birthday;
• upon your child gets married or becomes gainfully employed;
• the total amount covered by Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit or Permanent Total
Disability Benefit and/or Double Living Benefit has either been paid or is payable by us to you;
• upon your child’s death; or
• the cancellation of the policy on your or our request.

Exclusions
There are two categories that are not covered by Twin PA:
- Pre-existing conditions, which means any illness or condition that occurred before the date your/your

child’s policy began or the date your/your child’s policy was last started again (if your/your child’s
cover has been stopped in the past). For this purpose, an illness or condition has occurred when:
• it has been medically investigated, diagnosed or treated;
• its symptoms are clear and distinct; or
• its symptoms would cause an ordinary person to seek diagnosis, care or treatment.

- General exclusions such as:


• bacterial infections;
• medical or surgical treatment (except those necessitated by injuries covered by this plan);
• injury resulting in hernia;
• mental or nervous disorders; use of drugs/narcotics of any kind;
• AIDS;
• an event resulting from war, invasion, or civil war;
• aerial activities or flying as a pilot or crew member in any aircraft except as passenger in a
commercial airline;
• suicide or intentional self-injury;
• professional sports;
• any kind of disease or sickness or congenital defects;
• childbirth, pregnancy or miscarriage;
• driving or riding in any kind of motor race;
• dental treatment not necessitated by Injury covered under this plan; and
• active duty in the armed force. For all standard exclusions, please refer to the policy contract. For a

Waiting Period
You/Your child will have to wait 12 months from the date of your/your child’s accident for any payment
due under the:
• Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefit (except for accidental death, loss of one/two limb(s),
shortening of leg or fractured leg as described in the Schedule of Indemnities for Accidental Death and
Dismemberment Benefit); or
• Permanent Total Disability; or
• Double Living Benefit

Premium
You can pay your/your child’s first premium and renewal premiums using cash, by cheque or by credit
card. You can also pay your/your child’s renewal premium via Maybank auto-debit (when using Maybank
auto-debit, your/your child’s first premium needs to be paid by cash or cheque).

You can choose to pay your/your child’s renewal premiums once a year or twice a year.

We recommend that you pay each renewal premium before it is due. The latest you can pay each renewal
premium is 31 days after the due date. If we do not receive your/ your child’s renewal premium within 31
days of the due date, your/your child’s cover will stop.

Cancellation
We may cancel your/your child’s plan by writing to you stating that your/your child’s policy is to be
cancelled. The cancellation date will not be less than 10 days from the date that we mail the letter to you.

You may cancel your/your child’s plan by writing to us stating the date on which you want your/
your child’s plan to be cancelled. Cancellation will be effective on that date. If we receive the written
notification after the intended date of cancellation, the cancellation will be effective on the date it is
received by us.

If you decide to cancel your/your child’s plan, you must do so before your/your child’s next premium due
date. The amount of premium that we should refund you will be calculated in accordance with the short
rate cancellation table, and is based on our procedures at the time of the refund. However, paying the
premium back to you is not a condition of cancellation.

Claims
You need to complete the claim documents, which you can obtain from your AIA agent, by calling the AIA
Care Line at 1300 88 1899 or visiting any AIA branch. You will find a list of AIA branches in Malaysia by
going to www.aia.com.my

You must provide us with written notice of a claim within 30 days of the accident causing your/your
child’s injury and you will need to provide us with proof of your/your child’s claim, such as all relevant
reports (e.g. hospital, police etc), together with all original medical/treatment bills related to the
claim. To prove that you/your child has been hospitalized, you must provide us with an official statement
of account or a receipt from the hospital within 30 days of your/your child’s discharge.

In addition, we also need proof supporting the claim (such as a hospital certificate, documents on
medical treatment or examination, police report, post-mortem report, death certificate, burial
certificate or newspaper cuttings) and proof of the identity of the person making the claim – within 90
days of the accident.
