Annabelle the Unicorn

Crochet Pattern Written by Melissa’s Crochet Patterns

You will need…


● Yarn Color A ­ about 100 yards (Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn in Iced Violet)
● Yarn Color B ­ about 20 yards (Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn in Hot Orchid)
● Yarn Color C ­ about 4 yards ­ (Loops and Threads Impeccable Solids in Soft Rose)
● Yarn Color D ­ about 80 yards ­ (Red Heart Super Saver Solid in Perfect Pink)
● 12mm safety eyes or desired size
● 3.25mm crochet hook (Size D), or desired crochet hook
● Fiberfill Stuffing
● Yarn Needle
● Sewing Pins to hold pieces in place before sewing (optional)
● Stitch Markers

Stitches and Abbreviations used…


● Ch ­ chain
● Sl ­ slip stitch
● Sc ­ single crochet
● St ­ stitch
● Sts ­ stitches
● Rpt ­ repeat
● Inc ­ increase, 2 sc in the same space
● Dec ­ decrease or sc2tog (single crochet 2 together)
Note : Pieces are made in a continuous spiral. Pieces begin with a magic ring, but
you can also use a ch 2 to start.

Head
● With Yarn Color A
Rnd 1 ~ chain 5, sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in the next 2 sts, inc with 3 sc in the last
ch.
Now you will work on the other side of the foundation chain, sc in 2, inc in the last ch (10 sc)
Rnd 2 ~ sc, inc / rpt around (15 sc)
Rnds 3­6 ~ sc around (15 sc)
Rnd 7 ~ sc in 4, inc / rpt around (18 sc)
Rnd 8 ~ sc, inc 6 times, sc in 11 (24 sc)
sc, inc, inc, inc, inc, inc, inc, sc in the last 11 stitches.
Rnd 9 ~ sc, (sc, inc) 6 times, sc in 11 (30 sc)
Rnds 10­15 ~ sc around (30 sc)
Rnd 16 ~ sc in 3, dec / rpt around (24 sc)
● Insert eyes between Rnds 9 & 10.
● Start stuffing, add more stuffing as needed.
Rnd 17 ~ sc in 2, dec / rpt around (18 sc)
Rnd 18 ~ sc, dec / rpt around (12 sc)
Rnd 19 ~ dec around (6 sc)
● Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
● Using your yarn needle, sew the remaining hole closed.

Hair (make 15)


● Using Yarn Color D
Leaving a long beginning tail, chain 26, place 3 sc in the 3rd ch from the hook. 3sc
in each of the next 22 chs, sc in the last st.
● Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Ears (make 2)
● Using Yarn Color A
● Do not stuff.
Rnd 1 ~ Using a magic ring, place 5 sc into the magic ring (5 sc)
Rnd 2 ~ inc, sc in 4 (6 sc)
Rnd 3 ~ inc, sc in 5 (7 sc)

● Sl in the next st, fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
● Stuff.

This unicorn is sewn together in the same way as Precious the Purple Panda. You

Assembly
● Using your yarn needle, sew the head on top of the body using the tail from
the body.
● Sew the arms to the top of the body, right under the head.
● Sew the legs to the bottom of the body.
● Sew the horn on top of the head right above the eyes.
● Sew the ears behind the horn, having the horn in the center.
● Sew 10 pieces of hair down the back of the head, starting right behind the
horn, in rows of 2.

● Sew 5 pieces of hair on the back, bottom of the body to form a tail.
● With your yarn needle and Yarn Color B, give your unicorn some nostrils.
