I am very excited to be applying for the position of Environmental Specialist with the City of St.
Petersburg. I have a strong passion for science and believe I would be a great fit for your
organization. St. Petersburg continues to show a dedication to protecting and enhancing
Florida’s natural beauty, and I would love to be a part of that effort.
Having recently completed my associate degree in Environmental Science, I am ready and able
to contribute to our community. In my classes I have learned a great deal about sampling,
testing, and taking measurements, as well as the application of scientific concepts to
environmental issues. I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Sustainability
Management, which will further enhance my ability in this field.
I have previously interned and volunteered with environmental organizations such as the
Florida Aquarium and 4Ocean, giving me first-hand experience in the day to day activities of this
sort of operation. Additionally, I was a delegate to Boys State in 2015. Through that opportunity
I became familiar with government operations and techniques.
