Lesson Plan: Making a project “Dream job” (grade2

Students)
Duration: 60 minutes

Grade Level: 2

Objective:

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

Talk about different jobs they like and understand what they can do with the job.

1. Introduction (10 minutes)

• Explain the Project: Briefly introduce the topic (e.g., "Making a Dinosaur Diorama," "Creating

a Storybook," or "Building a Simple Bridge").

• Show an Example: Display a finished project to give them a clear idea of the goal.

• Break It Down: Explain the steps simply (e.g., "First we draw, then we cut, then we glue").

2. Planning & Materials (10 minutes)

• List Materials Needed (e.g., paper, scissors, glue, crayons).

• Quick Sketch/Draft: Have them draw a simple plan (e.g., "Draw what your diorama will look

like").

3. Hands-On Work (30 minutes)

• Step-by-Step Guidance: Walk them through each part (e.g., "Cut the shapes first, then glue

them").

• Assist as Needed: Move around the room to help struggling students.

• Encourage Creativity: Let them personalize their projects (e.g., "Choose your favorite

colors!").

4. Wrap-Up & Presentation (10 minutes)

• Clean-Up: Have students put away supplies.

• Quick Share Time: Let a few volunteers explain their projects in 1-2 sentences.

• Positive Feedback: Praise effort and creativity ("Great job sticking with it!").

Tips for Success:

✅ Keep instructions short & visual (demonstrate steps).

✅ Use a timer to keep them on track.

✅ Pre-cut complex shapes if needed to save time.

✅ Pair students for teamwork if the project allows.
