Pool

The document outlines the components and maintenance procedures for a swimming pool pump room, including the pool pump, cartridge filters, chlorine dispenser, check valve, and gate valves. It details when and how to clean each part, as well as the ideal pool chemistry parameters and shocking procedures for water quality issues. Additionally, it provides two operational options for the filtration cycle, including valve setups and priming instructions for the pump.

PARTS OF PUMP ROOM

I. POOL PUMP -circulates the flow of the filtration system

When to clean: if had many solids collected on the basket strainer

Cleaning: Simply push down the lid while turning it counter clockwise to pull the strainer and
any solids strained by the basket strainer.

II. CARTRIDGE FILTERS -Filters swimming pool's water from any solid particles before returning it to the pool.

When to clean: if the cartridge filters is clogged by dirt or if the filters is not that filtering that it used to be.
Cleaning: Twist the lid counter clock wise to open and pull out the cartridge.
*You can clean the cartridge manually by a pressure washer or manually scrub it.

II. CHLORINE DISPENSER

Chlorine tablet dispenser.
III. CHECK VALVE
Prevent water from return line from coming back to the filter.
IV, GATE VALVES
Isolates the flow of water.

Suction side:

Valve 1: (from left facing the pump room's window)

suction from skimmer side.
Valve 2: (middle)
suction from overspill's floor drain
Valve 3: (right)
suction from swimming pool main drain and floor drain

Supply side: (Return)

Valve 1: (from left facing the pump room's wall)

discharge valve to trench canal
Valve 2: (middle)
return nozzle 1,3,5
Valve 3: (right)
return nozzle 2,4,6
POOL CHEMISTRY
Pool Volume 14,671.80 = 15,000 Gallons
OverSpill 2,032.80 2,000 Gallons
Total Gallons 17,000 Gallons
1.) Pool Chlorine
Capsule: 1 tablets every 5000 Gallons
4 Tablets
Powder: 15,000-20000 gallons
7 oz

Ideal Range: *follow the supplier's manual for the dosage

If ph is low add soda ash
Total Hardness (ppm) : 250-500 If ph is high add dry acid
Total Chlorine (ppm) : 1-3
Free Chlorine (ppm) : 1-3 If Chlorine is low add chlorine
pH : 7.2-7.8 If Chlorine is high add water or let it evaporate on it’s own then add
Alkalinity (ppm)- 80-120 accordingly.
Cyanuric Acid(ppm) : 30-50

2) Shocking -If have any water issues from main water source.
Tea Green x2 of chlrine required
Yellow Green x3
Dark Green x4

Let it kill the bacteria and algae for atleast 8 hours starting from evening for less evaporation causing by the sun.
Run the filter to filter out the dead particles and algae 6 hrs (can be sched 3 hrs morning and afternoon)
If had cloudy water and need immediate clearing you can use pool clarifier. If don't have just let the filtration system run.

OPERATION OPTION 1 : Standard Pool Filtration Cycle

>>>>> The Suction source is the swimming pool's 3- main / floor drain .

Preparation: Put chlorine capsule to the dispenser if you use chlorine tablets.
or chlorine powder to the pool according to the recommended dosage.

Step 1. Valve Setup

Assuming the pool has plenty of water & the pool chemistry is done, carefully follow the valving setup below:

Supply Side: Valve 1 : Close

Supply Side: Valve 2 : Open
Supply Side: Valve 3: Open

Suction Side: Valve 1 : Close

Suction Side: Valve 2 :Close
Suction Side: Valve 3: Open

The pool water will now flow to the pump's basket strainer proceeding to step 2.

Step 2. You can see clearly thru the pump's basket strainer. once the water reaches the strainer,
open carefully the cartridge filter's release cap. It will release unwated air inside the suction
piping. After the air is fully release and it is not making any air sound it shall begin to release
water from the cap. It means the suction side are fully primed and it is ready to operate.
Immediately close the cap.

*Other possible scenario: if the air is fully release and it is not making any air release sound
but there is no water coming out from it. It may require to prime the pump.

Priming the pump: (creates suction pressure)

Turn the circuit breaker on and press the green button repeatedly (half press back & forth) until
the water reaches the filter's air release cap and release water. Once you see any water
coming out from the air release cap it is fully primed. Close the cap

Step 3 Final, Turning on the pump.

Make sure you follow all the steps above, Turn on the breaker and push start (green button) on the push
button and it shall work accordingly to it's purpose. The filtration cycle will begin.
Recommended Filtration Time: 4-8 hrs (depends on the usage) you can turn it on by 2 schedule to
make sure the pump's motor has its resting period and avoid overheating.
You can turn it on any time even it have swimmers present.
But the best time is always: after usage or evening.

OPERATION OPTION 2 : Overflow Effect Filtration Cycle

>>>>> The Suction source is the overspill's 2 loor drains or skimmer (if water level reached it’s mouth) .

Preparation: Put chlorine capsule to the dispenser if you use chlorine tablets
or chlorine powder to the pool according to the recommended dosage.

Step 1. Valve Setup

Assuming the pool has plenty of water & the pool chemistry is done, carefully follow the valving setup below:

Supply Side: Valve 1 : Close

Supply Side: Valve 2 : Open
Supply Side: Valve 3: Open

Suction Side: Valve 1 : (optional) Open if you will use the skimmer as suction Close if not (can use when using hose vacuum)
Suction Side: Valve 2 : Open
Suction Side: Valve 3: Close

The pool water will now flow to the pump's basket strainer proceeding to step 2.
