I am interested in obtaining Goldman Sachs’ X Internship in Hong Kong. Having looked into the firm and the position, I
believe that I have the qualities necessary to succeed. These qualities are demonstrated by my academic and
extracurricular experiences.
Private Equity Experience: These past 4 months I was fortunate enough to intern at a X Fund dedicated to
acquiring, managing, and growing SME’s (EV €[X]m). I worked alongside ex-BCG, Morgan Stanley, and J.P
Morgan professionals with whom I was granted a unique level of daily exposure; whether it would be actively
participating to calls with M&A brokers, debt providers, CEO/CFO’s, or investors from the fund’s cap table, I
gained a rare educated insight into the world of private equity, investment banking, and corporate finance that I
believe will help me bring value & insight in my future roles. Furthermore, I acquired various vital skills for this
position by analyzing 10+ IM’s, conducting 3 high-level DCF valuations, screening 800+ companies, and
assisting on 2 investor relation presentations.
Rigorous academic background: Ever since finishing high school, I have always pursued academically
challenging programmes, and have thus grown accustomed to working long hours on complex matters in
competitive environments. Whether it be through my X years of preparatory school in France, or my X years in a
highly selective X program at X University, I have experienced academically intense young years. These years
have instilled me discipline, stamina, & curiosity - traits that I would deem indispensable for this position.
Ability to lead in multicultural settings: Having a sense of direction and guiding a team of people towards
achieving difficult goals is a skill which must be cultivated, and it is a one that I have been able to hone through
various experiences. I was project lead in a Junior Consulting Society for X years and effectively led market
studies & Business Plans with teams of up to 4 people. I have also co-launched a startup with the goal to X – such
an endeavour requires the constant ability to lead the company forward, make difficult decisions, and crafting
vision.
I qualify myself as curious, assiduous, and open-minded. I am confident my dedication, desire to learn and willingness to
do everything required as an intern will allow me to excel at Goldman Sachs. I appreciate the effort, time and capital
dedicated to new hires at such a cornerstone institution as Goldman Sachs and it is my mission to provide a return on this
investment as soon as possible.
