NOTIFICATION – IMPLEMENTATION PLAN OF 6TH EDITION NABH ACCREDITATION


STANDARDS FOR HOSPITALS

NABH is pleased to announce the introduction of 6th edition of the NABH Accreditation Standards for
Hospitals. As we navigate through the dynamic landscape of healthcare, this edition stands as a testament
to the continuous commitment of NABH towards elevating the quality and safety of healthcare services in
our nation. The 6th edition of NABH Accreditation Standards for Hospitals is a valuable resource for
healthcare organizations committed to providing safe, effective, and patient-centered care.

The 6th edition of NABH accreditation standards for Hospitals will be released on September 17, 2024, during
the NABH Patient Safety Conference in New Delhi. The new edition will be effective from January 01, 2025.

The Guidebook will be available for purchase from October 15, 2024 onwards.

All applicants and Accredited Hospital are required to follow the Implementation and Migration Plan as per
the following protocol:

NABH will start conducting assessments as per 6th Standard from January 1st, 2025 onwards. Any
Hospital which wishes to undergo assessment (SA or RA, as per due activity of accreditation cycle of
that hospital) may opt for the same

However, no fresh or renewal application will be accepted as per 5th Edition Standard after 31st
December, 2024 (Please refer S.No.1 and 7). Also, no surveillance assessment will be conducted as
per 5th Edition standards after 31st March 2025.
