Slim, dressed formally in tails and presenting classic magic
including candles, doves, silks, he gave a very good presentation
of the floating table with a member of the audience, and
finished with a spectacular snowstorm effect. Don’t knock the
classics as old-fashioned; performed well, as we saw here, they
are as pleasing to the audience as they’ve always been.
A rush of pink coloured feathers and silk poured onto the
stage wrapped around Romany, a young woman who has
proved in the last few years that she is going places. A great
personality, she engages and flirts with the audience and has a
quality of magic that has won her many awards including the
Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year. Dressed like a
Marlene Dietrich saloon bar girl, her magic is excellent with
bird cage productions, Gypsy thread, a brief linking ring
routine with a silk (and a stunning vanish of the ring), a card
effect and a rope routine with a member of the audience,
during which she steals and dons his jacket under the tied
ropes. Romany is about to enter some international
competitions including FISM and I predict success.

parade of very mobile characters, ranging from a grumpy old

Steve Hewlett. It’s not that his vent technique is not good, but
the characterisation of the figures and the scripts nowadays
are so good you never look at the vent’s lips. This was a very
modern, professional and entertaining act.
