Monthly AC Inspection Checklist

1. General Inspection
 ☐ Inspect the exterior and interior unit for any physical damage or signs of wear
 ☐ Check for unusual noises or vibrations during operation
 ☐ Ensure the unit is level and securely mounted
 ☐ Verify that thermostat is functioning and set to desired temperature

2. Air Filters
 ☐ Inspect air filters for dirt and debris
 ☐ Clean or replace filters if clogged or dirty (recommended every 1–3 months)

3. Electrical Components
 ☐ Check electrical connections for tightness and corrosion
 ☐ Inspect wiring for damage or fraying
 ☐ Test circuit breakers and fuses

4. Condensate Drain Line


 ☐ Ensure the drain line is clear of clogs or blockages
 ☐ Check for water leakage or overflow
 ☐ Clean the drain pan

5. Coils and Fins


 ☐ Inspect evaporator and condenser coils for dirt or dust
 ☐ Gently clean coils if necessary
 ☐ Check condenser fins for damage or blockage and straighten if bent

6. Airflow and Ductwork


 ☐ Check for proper airflow at vents
 ☐ Inspect visible ductwork for leaks or disconnected sections
 ☐ Remove any obstructions around return and supply vents

7. Refrigerant Lines
 ☐ Inspect refrigerant lines for insulation damage or leaks
 ☐ Look for signs of oil spots that may indicate a refrigerant leak
8. Thermostat & Controls
 ☐ Test system start-up, operation, and shutdown
 ☐ Ensure settings are accurate and programmable features are working

9. System Performance Check

 ☐ Confirm system cycles on/off correctly
 ☐ Monitor for any odd odors

10. Cleanliness & Safety


 ☐ Ensure unit area is clean and clear of debris or vegetation
 ☐ Confirm that safety switches and shutoffs are functional
