Diploma in adult nursing, This was a three years of theoretical and practical based
learning and enables me to become a qualify staff nurse.

Main duties and responsibilities
care for all patients coming from accident and emergency department including GP
referrals. My main responsibilities were initial triage and assessment of patient, then
plan of treatment of care if needed.
Working in CDU gave me a wider knowledge of all aspects of patient care. It has
helped me developed the ability to adapt rapidly in a change of care using my
initiatives. I left CDU for change of job to A+E

After CDU, I moved to A+E. More experience gained in A+E with more higher daily
responsibilities. I worked in all areas in emergency department. Such as triaging,
majors, Resuscitation room and minors injuries. I competently do plasters casting of
fracture patients and minor dressing and treatment. I assessed and implement
patient care effectively when triaging.
I competently received blue calls when working in resus and received patients
handover from ambulance crew. Have worked with Dr’s to prioritise patient care in
resus. These experiences has enable me to adapt in rapid change and to work within
the team, for better result regarding patients care.

Have completed a diploma in adult nursing from Middlesex University
with over,11 years nursing experienced working in surgical, medical,
A+E and Intensive care unit as a band 5, progressed to band 6. Currently i worked full
time at North Middlesex hospital Intensive care unit as a charge nurse.
Have successfully completed the intensive care level 6 course at the
Kings College University. Putting theory into practice has widened my
knowledge and skills in caring for patient with different diagnosis
and complex needs. Have also attended several ITU study days that has
helped in improving my knowledge and skills regarding Critical care.
I’m competent in caring for critically ill patient requiring intensive
care. I cared for intubated patient with Tracheotomy, Endo-tracheal
filtration, invasive or non invasive blood pressure monitoring and
more. Am also aware of aseptic technique when managing invasive and
non invasive lines or patients with opened wounds.
Furthermore, have worked in accident and emergency for few years as a
band 5 staff nurse before moving into ITU. My nursing assessment
skills has developed widely in recognizing when patient deteriorating
or responding to treatment.
In addition to these, have been Nurse In-charge on the unit, mentoring and teaching newly
qualified and student nurses effectively. These as also improve My leadership and
management skills ensure safe and effective care.
I consider myself as a good record-keeper, by making sure my nursing
documentation and incident forms are written as accurately and legibly
for other team members to read. Documentation and record keeping is an
integral part of patients recovery and a Benchmark for clinical
effectiveness thus, I managed these skills efficiently.
