Arizona Driver’s License and ID Card Information

Arizona joined the Records and Information from DMVs for E-Verify (RIDE) program in July 2017
for driver’s licenses and ID cards. When an employee presents an Arizona driver’s license or ID
card as his or her List B document for Form I-9, E-Verify will prompt you to enter the document
information and will verify it against Arizona records.

 Select “Driver’s license” as the document name in

E-Verify for any Arizona document called a Driver License,
Instruction Permit, or Commercial Driver License.

 Select “ID card” as the document name in E-Verify for any

Arizona document called an Identification Card.

 Arizona issues horizontal driver’s licenses and ID cards for

individuals age 21 and over and issues vertical driver’s
licenses and ID cards for individuals under age 21.

 Arizona driver’s licenses and ID cards contain document

numbers (circled) that are nine characters- one letter
followed by eight numbers.

 Arizona began issuing driver’s licenses and ID cards with the

current design on March 28, 2016.
