Arizona Driver’s License and ID Card Information
Arizona joined the Records and Information from DMVs for E-Verify (RIDE) program in July 2017
for driver’s licenses and ID cards. When an employee presents an Arizona driver’s license or ID
card as his or her List B document for Form I-9, E-Verify will prompt you to enter the document
information and will verify it against Arizona records.
Select “Driver’s license” as the document name in
E-Verify for any Arizona document called a Driver License,
Instruction Permit, or Commercial Driver License.
Select “ID card” as the document name in E-Verify for any
Arizona document called an Identification Card.
Arizona issues horizontal driver’s licenses and ID cards for
individuals age 21 and over and issues vertical driver’s
licenses and ID cards for individuals under age 21.
Arizona driver’s licenses and ID cards contain document
numbers (circled) that are nine characters- one letter
followed by eight numbers.
Arizona began issuing driver’s licenses and ID cards with the
current design on March 28, 2016.
