1. General
The NM8N series moulded case circuit breaker is suitable for AC circuits with frequencies of 50/60Hz,
rated voltages up to AC 690V, and DC systems with rated voltages up to DC 1000V. It has a rated
current range from 16A to 1600A. This circuit breaker provides protection against overload, short circuit,
and undervoltage conditions. Additionally, it offers the same protection for infrequent motor starts.
The products offer power distribution protection, motor protection, residual current protection, and
isolation.
The circuit breaker can be installed vertically or horizontally and supports both top and bottom line entry
configurations.
2. Operating conditions
2.1 Temperature:
Operating and storage temperature is -40°C~+70°C; the average value within 24 hours does not
exceed +35°C; when the ambient temperature is -40°C~+70°C, users need to consider derating or
temperature compensation whose details can be referred to in Sections 10.3 and 10.4.
2.2 Altitude: ≤ 2000m;
2.5Environmental conditions:
At the mounting site, relative humidity should not exceed 50% at a maximum temperature of +40°C.
Higher humidity is permissible at lower temperatures, such as 90% RH at +20°C. Special measures
should be taken to prevent dew formation.

5.2.2 Protection solution
The NM8N Series offers start-up, control and protection solutions for two three-phase
asynchronous motors:
P- 012 MCCB NM8N
Three-component solution
Magnetic type circuit breaker + Contactor + Thermal overload relay
(Note: Magnetic type is chosen to be consistent with the earlier pages)
In this system, the magnetic type circuit breaker is used for short circuit protection, the contactor is
used for motor operation, and the thermal overload relay provides overload, phase loss, and phase
unbalance protection.
1)Magnetic type release M
The electromagnetic protection circuit breaker has a current range of 125~800A, an adjustable
range of 9~14In and an accuracy of 20%. It is especially suitable for use in the classic
threecomponent protection solution.
