Meaning of Self - Exploration


– Exploration means Knowing about Unknowing things.
– Self – Exploration means “To be aware of Oneself”.
– A Sanskrit term to describe this empirical practice of Self – Exploration is “Atma-Mannan” or “Atma-
Vichar”.
– Self – Exploration is the process to find out “What is Valuable to me, What is right for me, what is true
for me” by investigating within myself.
– It is a process of dialogue – between me and you, to begin with
– It soon becomes a dialog within your own Self…

Purpose of Self – Exploration


– Self – Exploration is a process of dialogue between “What you are” and “What do you really want to
be”.
– It is a process if identification our innateness and moving toward self – organization and self –
expression.
– This process of self – exploration helps us to identify our Swatva ( ) and through that acquiring
Swantantrata ( तं ता) and Swarajya ( रा ).
 Swatva ( ) – Innateness of Self – the Natural Acceptance of Harmony.
 Swantantrata ( तं ता) – Being Self – organized – Being in Harmony with oneself.
 Swarajya ( रा ) – Self – expression, Self – Extension – Living in Harmony with other.

Process of Self – Exploration


It is a PROPOSAL
Do not assume to be true immediately nor reject it without proper exploration.
Verify it in your OWN RIGHT
On the basis of your NATURAL ACCEPTANCE
Live accordingly to validate it EXPERIENTIALLY.
If PROPOSAL is true in behaviour with human, it leads to MUTUAL HAPPINESS.
If PROPOSAL is true in work with rest of Nature, it leads to MUTUAL PROSPERITY.

Steps involve in Self – Exploration


– PROPOSAL :- The dialogue which can be verify is a Proposal.
– VERIFY :- The person should ask himself whether the proposal is naturally acceptable to him or not. If
yes, follow the next step.
– EXPERIENTIAL VALIDATION :- The proposal once verified should be put into practice. One should live accordingly
to that proposal in his behaviour and in his work. The outcome of his experience should be Mutually Fulfillment
in behaviour and Mutual Prosperity in work.
– REALIZATION :- The Experiential Validation leads to the Realization that the proposal before us is true. It is
proposal which will make us bloom and spread fragrance as flowers do.
– UNDERSTANDING :- This Realization leads to Understanding that adopting this proposal is beneficial to us. It
then reflects in our behaviour, thought and action.

Mechanism of Self – Exploration


– Two mechanism for Self – Exploration may be identified as
– Natural Acceptance
– Experiential Validation

Natural Acceptance
– Natural Acceptance implies unconditional and total acceptance of the self, people and environment.
– It also refer to the absence of any expectation from the other.
– In other words natural acceptance is process understand our self first. Try to find out the ego stage and
try to reduce that, open our eyes and look around the world.
– Some characteristics of Natural Acceptance are as follows:-
– NA is not dependable on place.
– NA does not depend on our faith or precedent conditioning.
– NA is not changing with change in time.
– NA is continuously there.
– NA is the same for all of us.

Experiential Validation
– Experiential Validation is a process that infuses direct experience with the learning environment and
content.
– It may be regarded as a philosophy and methodology in which the direct experience and focused
reflection of the individual helps to increase knowledge, develop skills and clarify values.
– When what we already believe to be true of us is validated by some situations, phenomena or
outcome, we may term it as Experiential Validation.

– The process of Self – Exploration may seem a bit lengthy but it builds up a strong foundation for one’s
life.
– It leads to innate happiness.
– Clarifies our goals.
– Makes us reflect our ideas through our actions.
– Develops better understanding and personality.
– Help in management of self – time management, stress management and life management.
– Leads to value based conduct and order in society.
