DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

Descriptive text is usually describes a single object or person. Descriptive text biadanya
mendeskrispikan object secara khusus (specific/particular) baik itu orang, benda, binatang maupun
tempat.
Purpose/tujuan: to describe an object in specific.
Generic structure;
1. Identification (General orientation to the topic)
2. Description
3. Comment (optional)
Ciri teks descrptive :
1. Menggunakan Present tense: To be (ia,am,are) atau verb I
2. Menggambaran orang/benda/tempat secara khusus (specific/particular)
3. Batasan khusu biasanya adalah:
a. Nama (nama orang, tempat,kota,ngara desa)
b. Milik (mengunakan susut pandang orang pertama (I/My).
c. Tempat: Menyebutkan tempat tertentu.

Title My Study Habit
Identification I am a very organized person. I always do these 5 magical Study
Tips.
Description First, I have a place to study. It doesn’t have too big. I use a
corner of my bedroom for my study area. I have a desk, a chair,
a bookshelf, and a desk lamp there. Second, I always keep
everything organized. My desk is neat. I put the books away
when I don’t read them. Third, when I study, I review my lesson.
I usually take notes on important points. Sometimes I make a
mind map for my notes. Fourth , I also make flashcard to
memorize new vocabulary. I use colourful paper and a ring to
make it. Finally, I also have a study buddy to help each other.
He is my classmate and he is got at studying, too.
Comment I am happy with my study. I sometimes give myself some
rewards.
Vocabulary:

Organized : tersusun/teroganisir/tertatata

Identification My name is Riska. I’m 13 years old. I am a student at SMPN
Nusa Bangsa. My school is very big.
Description It has two floors with a big yard. There are many rooms in my
school, such as classrooms, principle’s room, teacher’s room,
gym, library, assembly hall, computer lab, science lab, rest
room, and canteen. My classroom is on the first floor. It is
opposite to the computer lab and next to the principle’s room.
My favourite place at school is library. It is on the second floor
and has many collections of books. There are also many
computers provided for student who want to read online. I
really enjoy spending time in the library. Sometimes, I borrow
some books and take them home.
Vocabulary:
Classroom : ruang kelas
Principle’room : ruang kepala sekolah
Teacher’s room : ruang guru
Gym : tempat senam
Library : perpustakaan

SIMPLE PRESENT
Simple present tense digunakan untuk:
1. Menyatakan kegiatan yang terjadi berulang-ulang dan merupakan kebiasaan.
2. Menyatakan kebenaran umum.
Simpl,e present tense menggunakan dua pola kalimat yaitu:
1. TO BE ( am. is, are)

To Be:
Am :I
Is : He, She, It, name of person (1), singular noun(kata benda tunggal: a boy, a book)
Are : You, We, They, plural noun (kata benda jamak: students,boys,bags)

Complement:
Noun : kata benda ( merujuk atau memberi nama benda)
Adjective : kata sifat ( menjelaskan kata benda)
Adverb : kata keterengan (memberi keterangan pada benda, tempat,orang,kegiatan).

2. Menggunakan Verb I
a. Memgunakan kata kerja bentuk pertama dasar tanpa akhiran –s/es
b. Menggunakan kata kerja bentuk pertama dasar demgan menggunakan akhiran –s/-es.

Pola kalimat ini untuk subject: I, you, we, they, plural noun (kata benda jamak).

B. Verb I (-s/-es)
+ Subject + Verb I (-es/-s) + object + adverb
- Subject + Does + Not + Verb I + object + adverb

Pola kalimat ini untuk subject : He, she, it, name of person (1), singular noun .
Contoh : + She goes to school everyday.
- She does not go to school everyday.
? Does she go to school everyday ?
Yes,She does atau Yes, She goes to school everyday.
No, She does not atau No, she does not go to school everyday.

Adverbs of frequency
Adverbs of frequency digunakan untuk menyatakan berapa kali suatu kegiatan dilakukan n atau
terjadi.
Adverbs of frequency are adverbs that changes or quality the meaning of a sentence by telling
how often or how frequently something happens.
% Adverbs of frequency Examples
100 Always I always keep my body clean by bathing twice a day.
90 usually To keep the floor clean I usually mop it three times a week.
80 Normally/generrally Panji normally cleans the room upstairs after school.
70 Often/frequently Hapiah often helps me wash all the dirty clothes four times
a week.
50 Sometimes Sometimes I forget t put the broom back.
30 Occasionally Occasionally Azmy helps me by wuping all the window
panes when he is on vacation.
10 Seldom Lily seldom makes her bed after waking up.
5 Hardly ever/rarely He hardly ever washes his car in his spare time. He prefers
to have someone else does it.
