Description Of System
The system provides the pilot with quick, simple and reliable visual docking information
to enable the pilot to position his aircraft on correct stand centerline with information
on rate of closing, and stop position.

The system provides information for:-


a. Aircraft type display.
b. Centerline guidance system to provide on centerline, steer right or steer left on the
azimuth guidance sub-display.
c. Display panel for closing-rate meter information.
d. Stop system provides information of aircraft correct stop position by closing
rate thermometer.

Pilot instructions
a. Follow taxi-in line and watch centerline beacon.
b. Check correct Aircraft type is flashing and that centerline guidance and closing rate
meter is activated, if adequate door number is shown. The gate number shall be presented.
c. Do not enter the stand if display presents STOP or wrong Aircraft type.
d. Approximate 32M before STOP, gate number disappears.
e. 21M before STOP, Aircraft type, go steady and door number disappears.
f. Full closing rate thermometer indicates at least 16M to STOP. When Aircraft has less
than 16M to STOP thermometer starts to move from bottom to top. If speed is too high,
SLOW DOWN will be shown.
g. When stop position is reached, display indicates STOP.
h. If Aircraft overshoots the limit for correct parking, display indicates TOO/FAR.
i. Display automatically shuts down after some seconds. After ON BLOCK, display can
indicate time.
j. Before departure, flight number and estimated time of departure will be presented.
