       1.1. Statement of the Problem
               1.3.1 Main Problem
The Philippines is currently experiencing a severe shortage of hospice centers as a
result of the aging population and rising demand for end-of-life care. Many elderly
patients end their lives in overcrowded hospitals or at home without adequate
palliative care as a result of this gap in the healthcare system. The quality and
accessibility of these services are further restricted by the dearth of qualified medical
professionals with expertise in geriatric and hospice care. To guarantee that the
elderly receive kind and respectable care in their last days, this issue must be
               resolved.
               1.3.2. Sub Problems:
1.3.2.1. How do patients, families, and caregivers/healthcare workers
understand the role of natural elements (such as gardens and natural light) in
enhancing comfort and well-being in hospice care settings?
1.3.2.2 How can we integrate nature into a hospital without affecting its
operational efficiency in terms of accessibility?
1.3.2.3. How do patients with mobility challenges experience nature-
integrated spaces in healthcare settings, and what design features support their
                        accessibility and comfort?
1.4. Objectives of the Study
The goal of the study is to create a Hospice care Facility that incorporates nature in
the environment to provide comfort and the best possible quality of care they may receive for
people before their final days. These are the following objectives:
1.4.1. To design therapeutic spaces in hospice care facilities that incorporate natural
elements like gardens and natural light to enhance patient comfort and well-
                        being.
1.4.2. To develop strategies for integrating nature into hospice care and hospital
environments without compromising accessibility, operational efficiency and
                        patient safety.

FACILITY FOR PATIENT COMFORT AND WELL-BEING “
1.4.3. To design a hospital and clinic that prioritize inclusivity, making nature-
integrated healthcare spaces accessible to all patients, including those with
                      mobility challenges.
