1. FOREWORD BY PRESIDENT
Dear fellow Malaysians, Salam sejahtera and warmest greeting from Cardiff. Croeso I Caerdydd! First and foremost, on behalf of the Malaysian Students Society of Cardiff University (hereinafter MSSCF), I would like th to extend our kind invitation of out much anticipated flagship event 4 Cardiff European Games, in conjunction with th the 12 Cardiff Malaysian Games (hereinafter CEG). MSSCF is most honoured by the fact that CEG is the only sports event across the continent authorised by Education Malaysia that involves the participation of our fellow friends from the Europe, thereby adding prestige and a unique element to the event. For the upcoming CEG, we will be providing you an opportunity to do your part in charity as the proceeds from the event will be contributed to the United Nations Childrens Fund in Cardiff (hereinafter UNICEF Cardiff). Details of the Games are as follows: Date : 24 March 2012 (Saturday) Time : 8.00 AM 7.00 PM Venue : Talybont Social Centre, Talybont Sports Centre & Power League Cardiff For many years, CEG has become the melting pot for Malaysian students in the United Kingdom and Europe to reinforce the connection in between the two via sportsmanship, as well as to ignite the competitive spirit amongst the participants. It is also a significant platform for developing various extra-curricular skills while promoting healthy competition, or just a simple getaway for fun. In addition, the Malaysian food festival will also be able to satisfy the taste buds of all who are away from home for such long periods. We, MSSCF take hospitality seriously! To ensure your visit to Cardiff will be as smooth-sailing as possible, please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any assistance with accommodation. (a) Cardiff, Wales (i)
By Train From London
The London Paddington to Cardiff service runs hourly and takes only two hours. You should alight at the Cardiff Central Station. It also continues to Swansea, with onward connections to West Wales. From Bristol
Trains from Bristol - Temple Meads Station are the central one - to Cardiff approximately every half hour during the day. Journey time is approximately 50 minutes. By Coach From London:
You can get Buses at the Victoria Coach Station and get ticket from there to Cardiff University station. To get cheaper prices, you can purchase your ticket before your travelling dates. If you are to arrive at Heathrow Airport London, you can take a coach from the airport straight to Cardiff. By Car
The major road route into Cardiff is the M4 motorway. From the East: Visitors travelling along the M4 from the East are advised to leave the M4 at junction 32 and follow the A470 (1st exit at roundabout) into the centre of Cardiff. From the West: Visitors travelling along the M4 from the West are advised to leave the M4 at junction 33 and join the A4232 (3rd exit at roundabout). You then have the option of either exiting the A4232 at the next roundabout and following signs for Cardiff city centre, or alternatively, if you remain on the A4232 it will eventually lead you to Cardiff Bay. From the South West: Visitors travelling from the South West of England should head North along the M5 motorway and then follow signs for South Wales and the M4. From the Midlands and North: Visitors travelling from the Midlands and the North of England should head for the M50 motorway (junction 8 on the M5 motorway) and then onto the A40 (signposted South Wales, Monmouth). Continue along the A40 until you reach Monmouth when the road becomes the A449. Continue along the A449 until you reach the Coldra roundabout where you should take the 5th exit to join the M4. Wales is serviced by a number of airlines who have direct routes into Wales and into cities close by like Bristol, Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester. Cardiff airport is situated approximately 15km South West of Cardiff city centre. Upon arrival at the airport visitors can travel on to the city centre by taxi, train or bus. Upon arrival in Cardiff: Taxis Checker Cars is the official taxi operator for the airport. The taxis are located just outside the arrival hall and can be pre-booked by emailing cardiff@checkercars.com or by telephoning +44 (0)1446 711747. The taxi journey will take approximately 25 minutes and there is a fixed cost of 24 (for up to 4 people sharing the taxi). Capital Black Cabs

Minibuses also available for group travel. Train A rail link connects Cardiff International Airport (Rhoose) and Cardiff Central Station, however you must use the free shuttle bus to get to the train station, which is situated approximately 1 mile away from the airport. Once at the station, trains leave every hour and a single ticket costs 2.90 (correct at time of writing please check www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk for up-to-date prices). Bus Cardiff Bus operates the X91 Airport Express bus service between Cardiff International Airport and Cardiff Central Station. The service runs every hour Monday to Saturday (daytime) and every two hours on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday (daytime). A single ticket costs 3.70 for an adult, however if you purchase a 4.50 day-to-go ticket you will have unlimited travel (on the day of purchase) on all Cardiff Bus services, which would seem far better value! (b) Talybont Sports Centre (i) By Car
From the East
Proceed along the M4 and exit at J29, A48(M). Continue ahead onto A48, Eastern Avenue. Travel for approx. 5 miles and after the Heath Hospital (on your right) proceed under the flyover onto Western Avenue. At next set of traffic lights (Tesco Extra turnoff) turn left into Excelsior Road. At the roundabout take the first left and immediate first right into Talybont. From the West
Proceed along the M4 and exit at J32. Take fourth exit off roundabout (signposted City Centre). Continue ahead onto A470 Northern Avenue/Manor Way. Travel for approx. 2 miles and at the sixth set of traffic lights opposite Mujib's Bar and Restaurant keep in the middle lane. Proceed round the roundabout alongside the flyover. Take right hand lane under the flyover. Take the fourth exit off the roundabout onto A48 Western Avenue. At next set of traffic lights (Tesco Extra turnoff) turn left into Excelsior Road. At the roundabout take the first left and immediate first right into Talybont.
