Never solder or desolder these pads, because they have been selected best in the production line.
A new PCB ass'y as a spare parts will be supplied with factory adjustment of these pads.

3-4. ACCURACY SETTING SYSTEM


The accuracy of QW-1637 is set by a selected Capacitor / Chip ( CG1 ) in the prodaction line.
There fore, in case of any defect on the Oscillator / Quartz or the LSI, replace the PCB ass'y with new one.

6. PRECAUTIONS FOR REPAIR : QW-1637

6-1. AC (ALL CLEAR)


Perform AC (ALL CLEAR) when inserting a new battery, or else the memories and/ or counters may
give erratic displays.
Touch the AC contact and the positive (+) side of the battery or main plate with the metalic tweezers.
The contact should be made for about two seconds.
For 2 seconds after the AC operation, do not make any button operations on these modules.

6-2. ACCURACY CHECKING


Check the accuracy of the module with the quartz timer after switching the module to "ACCURACY CHECKING
MODE".

The operations are shown below:

A) SWITCHING TO "ACCURACY CHECKING MODE"


Keep pushing the B button and continuously push the A , M buttons at the same time at the normal
time keeping mode.
Then all the segments are displayed and the LCD drive signals are changed to the static drive signal of
"32 Hz" so that you can check the accuracy with the quartz timer.

B) CANCELLATION OF THE "ACCURACY CHECKING MODE"


Push any button.
Then the display is returned to its original state.
NOTE: The "ACCURACY CHECKING MODE"
will automatically return to the regular
mode in 1 ~ 2 hour(s) without any operation.

6-3. LINK REMOVAL OF EXPANSION BAND
On the model A210WE which the module without movement QW-1637 is used, expansion type band is
employed. And how to make link removal of the expansion band is as follows.
1. Bend and make flat the thin plates which is covering the band with minus precision screw
driver.
Both upper and lower plates have to be bended.
2. Take out the pins from inside of the band.
Be sure to take out the pins from both side of the band.
Then the band will be separated.
3. Repeat the above 1 and 2 procedure, and make the link removal.
4. After the length of the band is adjusted, insert again the pins on both side in order to
connect again the band.
5. Bend vertically the thin plates of the band.
