and just nods at the person in charge. the person in charge
fails to realize that David had lied and moves on to the next

EXT. UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM - DAY - FLASHBACK

The scene starts by showing everyone walking in groups,

talking and having a great time together and then it moves to
David who is standing alone in a rather deserted place and
taking photographs of nature. He looks quite unhappy but is
really focused on taking pictures. He is dressed modestly and
does not seem to have indulged in much self-care. He then
moves to a cafe to get a drink. The cafe is filled with
students but he walks alone and sits on a table meant for
two. He spots another student looking for a place to sit.

David points at the empty seat with a smile

DAVID
It's uh ...its not reserved..

The student looks at David with almost no expression.

THE STUDENT
no, thank you!

The student then sees his group of friends, gives a loud cry
of joy, walks up to them and embraces them. David witnesses
all this, he smiles but his smile fades quickly as he is
reminded of his loneliness. Nevertheless, he tried to deny it
by looking into his phone.

DAVID (V.O.)
It's alright...it's alright...

He stops looking at the phone, leans back and lets out a deep
sigh. He steps up and walks out of the cafe. On his way he
encounters a group of people gathered in one particular place

and one person seem to be giving some sort of an announcement

with a poster in his hand. David tries to move past them and
as always nobody notices him.

GUY MAKING THE ANNOUNCEMENT (GMTA)

WE HAVE GOT GREAT NEWS FOR ALL OF YOU!
WE ALL HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY
TO PARTICIPATE IN "CAPTURE" WHICH IS A
NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED PRESTIGIOUS
PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION!

This shook David and made him stop on his way. He was too
reluctant to join the crowd so he just listened to the GMAT
from a distance just close enough to hear him. At this point,
the focus shifts toward David and what the GMAT is saying
should be audible but not clear. David can be seen quite
reluctant to participate but he is seen to have taken out his
camera and just staring at it, his hands shaking. The crowd
and the GMAT now moves away from the place where they had
been and David walks up to that place now and finds a poster
of the competition. He reads through the poster which had the
details of the competition:

Date of submission: 4 February, 2025

Minimum of 5 pictures required

Resolution: minimum 300 DPI

Size limit: 15MB per file

Minimal retouching allowed

Submissions to be made online

A short explanation of around 10 - 50 words required for each

picture to convey the story behind each photo

Prize award: £100,000 and a chance to participate in the

international photography competition based in Edinburgh

Participants must form groups of five in order to participate

The last statement shook David as though he had been struck

by lightening but he decided to take the poster with him
anyway.

INT. DAVID'S ACCOMMODATION - NIGHT

David's room is messy just like himself; he does not have any
decorations in his room. The only impressive entities in his
room were the pictures that he had taken. Amidst all the mess
sits David. He then looks up at one of the pictures that he
had captured using his camera. He picks one of them up and
stares at them. The voice of the GMAT, him looking at the
poster and him taking pictures of various items flashes
before his eyes. His eyes then rolls over to the poster that
he had carried along with him.

SUDDENLY, SOME FURIOUS VOICES THAT DAVID HAD HEARD FROM THE
PAST COME BACK TO HIS MEMORY

DAVID (V.O.)
YOU ARE NO GOOD....DO SOMETHING
USEFUL....YOU ARE JUST A LONE BRAT!!!

DAVID'S HEARTBEAT RISES, HIS EXPRESSION SHOWS A MIX OF

DEPRESSION AND FURY. THE CAMERA ZOOMS IN ON HIS FACE AT THIS
POINT.

THE CAMERA ZOOMS IN ON THE STATEMENT ON THE POSTER WHICH

SAID: REGISTER YOUR NAME FOR THE COMPETITION BY THE 1ST OF
FEBRUARY, 2025. AND AT THE SAME TIME GMAT'S VOICE FLASHED IN
DAVID'S MIND WHICH SAID: THE LAST DATE FOR REGISTRATION FOR
THIS PRESTIGIOUS EVENT IS TOMORROW.

INT. UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM - DAY

Loads of students in groups line up and crowd in the room

where the registration process is taking place. David enters
through the door, gets surprised by the crowd and a bit
nervous. The students are not exactly lined up but they are
present in groups talking to each other waiting for their
turn to approach the relevant authorities to register their
team for the competition. David, sits in a corner and waits
for his turn and dozes away.

David wakes up quite startled and sees that all the other
students had left.

FLASHBACK IS OVER AND BACK TO THE PRESENT MOMENT

David is startled as the authority in charge talked to him...

THE WORDS "CAN I HELP?" WAS MENTIONED IN THE FLASHBACK AND

WAS ALSO MENTIONED IN THE PRESENT. THE SCENE MUST BE SHOT IN
SUCH A WAY THAT THEY SEEM TO BE MENTIONED IN UNISON AND THAT
STARTLED DAVID.

Well, I was saying that in order to be

David was hurt, he did not know what to say. He just steps
up, walks out of the room, takes the poster from his pocket,
crushes it, throws it away and leaves.

DAVID'S ACCOMMODATION - NIGHT

David is sitting on his chair, talking over the phone to his

landlord Mr. Jason.

JASON
I am fed up of you Mr. Mckeller...this
is not the first time this is
happening

DAVID
I am sorry...please give me some more
time

JASON
Can't you even borrow the money from
someone?

DAVID
I...I...I can pay it...but please give
me some time...please..

JASON
I don't care how you are going to make
it but if you don't pay the rent by
the end of this week...YOU WILL BE
EVICTED!

BANG! The landlord declines the call. David is now seen to be

really anxious. His previous experiences of being left alone
and being cornered everywhere flashes before his eyes.

DAVID DECLINES THE CALL AND STARTS TALKING TO HIMSELF, HIS

VOICE REALLY LOW AND FEEBLE

HIS EYES WERE FILLED WITH TEARS AND HE WAS BREATHING QUITE
HEAVILY AND THIS IS TO BE FOCUSED ON DURING THE SHOOT TO SHOW
THE INTENSITY OF THE SCENE.

At this point the camera exposes the crumbled poster of the

competition that David had eventually decided to carry along
with him.

He picks up his phone again, types in the number and calls

the West Midlands Railways.

EXT - CENTRAL LONDON - DAY - 8AM

David walks out of London Euston station. He is in London for

the first time and thus is quite confused. He has his camera

in his hands. He takes a few steps away from London Euston

station.

AS DAVID WALKED AWAY FROM THE EUSTON TRAIN STATION, A MAN IS

SEEN TO BE SPYING ON HIM. HE HAD A FACE MASK AND HENCE, HIS
FACE IS NOT BEING REVEALED. HE WORE DARK CLOTHES.

He first approached the tower bridge, adjusts his camera and

starts taking pictures of it in different angles... (other
places to be decided) - DAVID WANTED TO SUBMIT 5 PICTURES BUT
MANAGES TO TAKE ONLY 4.

EXT. AFTERNOON

David approaches a bench and sits on it. He had stopped to

adjust the settings of his camera and to review the pictures
that he had taken so far. After a long while, there appeared
to be a smile on his face whilst he was looking at his
pictures. He counts the pictures he had taken.

DAVID
one....two....three...four....alright,
one more to go

All of a sudden, the man who had been spying on him ran up to
him, snatched his camera and started to run.

DAVID (CONT'D)
Hey! .....HEYYYYY!!

David starts to chase him.

THE CHASE SCENE IS TO BE SHOT IN THE FORM OF A MUSIC VIDEO

LASTING FOR A FEW MINUTES. THE MUSIC KEEPS PLAYING WHILST
DAVID CHASES THE MAN AND CROSSES SEVERAL LOCATIONS IN LONDON.
WHILST RUNNING, HIS WALLET IS SEEN TO HAVE SLIPPED OUT OF HIS
POCKET. DAVID FALLS DOWN IN BETWEEN WHILE CHASING THE MAN AND
AT THAT POINT, HE LOSES HIS PHONE TOO.

EXT. EVENING

David loses the man who had stolen his camera. He is utterly
lost, dreaded and dismayed by the turn of events as he is now
lost in this big city completely new to him and he has also
lost his camera on which he had the pictures for the
competition.

DAVID IS NOW SHOWN TO BE ALL ALONE. HIS FEELINGS OF

LONELINESS INTENSIFIES BY EVERY MINUTE. DURING THIS TIME AS
HE WALKS DOWN THE PATH, MEMORIES OF HIS LIFE FLASH BEFORE HIM
ALL OF WHICH INVOLVES HIM BATTLING LONELINESS.

THIS SCENE IS TO BE SHOT IN A DESERTED PLACE.

EXT. NIGHT

David now walks down the street, he checks his pocket and is
shocked to realize that he had lost his wallet and his phone.
He does not know what to do but is utterly tired to try out
something. He sits on a bench which he had seen on his way,
cries quite hard, lies down on it and falls asleep. The
screen turns dark after David had shut his eyes.

THE TONE OF THIS SCENE SHOULD BE DARK AND MONOTONOUS

CUT TO:

David then hears the sound of the alarm clock, wakes up and
realizes that he is in his bedroom, he gets confused and
rather relieved. He then walks up to his bathroom opens up
the door and sees the thief who stole his camera staring at
him.

THIS SCENE SHOULD BE SHOT IN SUCH A WAY THAT THIS CAUSES A

JUMPSCARE BY ADDING THE REQUIRED SOUND.

David is startled. He then wakes up at the bench in London

all sweaty from his nightmare and the day's hardwork and
realizes that him waking up at his bedroom was a dream.

He wakes up to see a man standing near the bench. His face

not clear at first but gradually becomes clearer. David was
terrified. The man extends his arm so that David could stand
up. This man wore a long coat and was rather neatly dressed.
He was soft spoken and gentle.

THE MAN
David......are you okay?

DAVID
How do you know my name?

THE MAN
That's not important....how are you
doing?

David just continues to sob.

David doesn't seem to be paying much attention to the man and

continues to cry. The man steps closer to David.

I lost everything....my camera....my
wallet....

THE MAN

David gives a subtle gesture indicating that he is too tired

of the man and the man should not let him alone

THE MAN (CONT'D)

Well...you know..why don't you come

The man seems to be losing his patience.

Well, I will leave it upon you then.
Things are just gonna get tougher for

relieved upon hearing what he said. He lets out a deep sigh.

The man gets closer to David, hands him a few pounds taken
from his pocket.

David looked at the man in disbelief but then accepts the

money reluctantly and stands up, looks around.

DAVID
I don't know why you did this uh

DAVID NODS, SMILES AND THEN WALKS TOWARDS THE STATION. ON HIS
WAY, HE STOPS AND TURNS AROUND SINCE HE HAD FORGOTTEN TO ASK
SOMETHING TO THE MAN

DAVIDS
I did not ask your name...

He was surprised to find that the man was no longer there and
had just disappeared...David was surprised and due to some
reason, the sense of security that he had felt up until then
with the man seemed to fade. Nevertheless, he turned around
and went into the station

CUT TO DAVID ARRIVING IN BIRMINGHAM...

HE WALKS ALONE THROUGH THE DARK STREETS, STOPS IN FRONT OF

HIS UNIVERSITY, LOOKS AT IT AND FEELS RATHER HELPLESS SINCE
HE KNEW THERE WAS NO WAY HE COULD MAKE IT.

the right monotonous background music)

The results of the competition are to be announced. David,

who had been walking towards a particular place, stops by the
place when he realized that the results were to be announced.
Although he knew that he had absolutely no role in the whole
competition. He decided to have look at it anyway.

THE ROOM IN WHICH THE RESULTS ARE TO BE ANNOUNCED IS SHOWN TO

BE REALLY CROWDED AND NOISY...

David enters the room and gets quite nervous. Hence, he

decides to stand in a corner and watch.

ALRIGHT....SO IT'S THE D DAY! WE ARE
ABOUT TO ANNOUNCE THE RESULTS OF
"CAPTURE" - THE PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL
PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION AND I KNOW YOU
ALL ARE EXCITED ABOUT THIS!

THE SHOT MOVES BETWEEN THE EXCITED AND NERVOUS CROWD, AND
DAVID, WHO IS DEPRESSED, IN A CONTRASTING MANNER. DAVID IS
ALSO SEEN TO BE PUSHED BY A STUDENT WHO HAD JUST ENTERED THE
ROOM.

DAVID IS SEEN TO HAVE BECOME REALLY UPSET BY NOT BEING ABLE

TO PART OF THE CONTEST. HE THEN WALKS UP TO THE DOOR AND
HOLDS THE DOOR HANDLE TO OPEN IT WHEN HE HEARD...

......MR. DAVID MCKELLER!!!!!

EVERYONE IS SHOWN TO BE SHOCKED. THE ROOM SUDDENLY BECAME

REALLY QUIET. DAVID WAS DUMBSTRUCK.

GMTA (CONT'D)
Can I please request the winner, Mr.
David Mckeller to come to the front?

David, who is utterly nervous and confused walks up to the

front. The crowd in front of him clears away his path so that

he could move to the front. Everyone now realizes who David

was and starts staring at him. The guy who had pushed him was
shocked.

David is now up at the front in front of everyone else and

along with the GMTA and the other representatives of the
competition. The crowd starts whispering.

GMTA (CONT'D)
Congratulations Mr.Mckeller, you had
not been part of a team but still you
made it.... Your pictures were amazing
and had a wonderful story....but the
fifth and the last picture you had
submitted is one of the reasons why
you are here....despite not being in a
team

AT THIS POINT A FLASHBACK OF DAVID COUNTING THE NUMBER OF

PICTURES AND REALIZING THAT HE HAD ONLY TAKEN FOUR AND IS YET
TO TAKE THE FIFTH ONE IS TO BE SHOWN.

David was surprised since he had taken only 4 pictures before

the camera had been stolen. The judges then handed over the
image to David. David was now at the peak of his astonishment
since the picture shown was that of him sitting on a bench,
with his face buried in his arms at night on the day he had
went to London to capture his pictures. It had a monotonous
tone. It's description read:

A STRONG MAN WHO CHOSE TO BE LONELY!

GMTA (CONT'D)
This picture showcased the complexity
of human beings and seemed to have a
deeper meaning behind it. Would you
mind tell us more about this, Mr.
Mckeller?

David is still quite stunned by the turn of events. He looks

at the picture, then at GMTA and the other representatives.
Eventually, he faces the crowd..

HE STARTS TO SPEAK SOFTLY AND GRADUALLY GAINS MOMENTUM. BY

THE TIME HE HAD REACHED THE END OF HIS ANSWER, HE HAD SOUNDED
LIKE AN EXEPERIENCED AND HIGHLY CONFIDENT PUBLIC SPEAKER.

AS HE STARTS SPEAKING, THE CAMERA ZOOMS IN ON HIM, AND THEN

IT CUTS AND FACES THE HUGE AUDIENCE, THE GMAT AND THE OTHER

The whole room erupted in applause. It was the loudest

applause David had ever heard and it was for him. The judges
were pleased and they too were applauding. Tears filled
David's eyes due to joy. David was surprised by his own
speech. He did not know where he had got all that power from
to give that compelling speech. He finally gave out a genuine
smile and felt that he belonged there.

All the noise had dissipated and people gradually started

evacuating the room, David steps out too. This time, many
people approached him to know more about him and to
complement him. David nervously meets and talks to them, all
while maintaining a polite tone.

David moves away from everyone else and looks at the picture
that he had spoken about (the picture of him sitting in
London with the description: A STRONG MAN WHO CHOSE TO BE
LONELY). Suddenly, the voice of the man he had met in London
emerges in his head.

The man who fought for his dreams will

always have a happy ending

David smiles and looks up at the skies. He then puts the

picture inside his bag, still confused how everything
happened, stepped out of the building and went back home not
alone this time.

EXT. - (TO BE DECIDED) - DAY

David is now well dressed and it is evident that he had done

a bit of self care. He is waiting for a cab to get to the
train station. While he was waiting he met a person who had
astonished him.

The man he had met in London was standing there, smiling.

David was surprised and also delighted to see him. He
approached him.

THE MAN
I am here to return your camera

DAVID
Oh....so it was YOU!?

THE MAN
Yeah........ .

DAVID
But how?

THE MAN
Got most of your personal details from
it's memory card......which I had used
to submit the pictures online
