1. Explain in detail about the Agreement of World Trade Organisation (WTO) and its effect on the
Intellectual Property Law in India.

2. Explain about The Patents Act, 1970 and the key ingredients of the Patent Amendment Act,
2005 with regards to non-patentable inventions.

Rights (TRIPS), which is part of the World Trade Organization (WTO) agreements, significantly
impacted India's Intellectual Property (IP) law by setting minimum standards for IP protection

regarding patents, trademarks, and copyrights, to comply with international norms, although this
raised concerns about access to affordable medicines in certain situation.

all aimed at encouraging innovation and creativity by protecting the intellectual contributions of
individuals and businesses.

applied for patent. The patent application was rejected by the Patent Officer. Is the rejection
valid? Explain with relevant case laws.

7. The Indian Government has announced a pandemic situation in India due to Covid-19. Z Pharma
Ltd. has approached the Central Government for issue of temporary compulsory license to
manufacture a life saving drug, which was already invented in USA and it was patented in USA.
Whether Z Pharma Ltd. will get the temporary compulsory license or not? Explain with relevant
case laws.
