INTRO:

Today I’m going to talk about sustainability and ecology.

These are two important topics for our future and the planet we live right on.

Sustainability using natural resources in a way that doesn’t harm the environment or future
generations. We need to live in a way that protects our Earth.

Ecology is the study of the relationships between animals, plants, people, and the environment.
If we don’t take care of our nature, everything gets affected.

Non im going talk about Ecological Planting

This means planting in a way that respects nature. We avoid using chemicals and try to grow
plants that are good for the environment.

It helps improve the soil, clean the air, and support local animals and insects.

Helps increase biodiversity.

Biodiversity means having many different living things. It helps nature stay strong.
In an ecosystem, everything in nature works together.
If we make better choices, we can reduce our ecological footprint.
We could reduce it by ninety percent if we change the way we eat, travel and live.
That’s a big impact!

What should we do?

Reuse - things instead of throwing them away

Recycle - paper, glass, and plastic
Reduce - how much energy and water we use

Pollution

It damages nature and our health. There are many types of pollution, like air pollution, can used
bycars and factories, and water pollution, caused bytrash, oil, and chemicals in rivers and
oceans.

Now I’m going to talk about renewable energy.

This is energy that comes from natural sources that don’t run out and don’t pollute the
environment.
Solar Energy :

This is energy from the sun. We use solar panels to collect sunlight and turn it intoelectricity.
It’s one of the best ways to produce energy at home, especially in sunnycountries like Portugal.

Wind Energy :

Wind turbines use the wind to produce electricity. It’s very good for the environment, but it
works best in places where it’s windy most of the time.

Hydroelectric Power :

This energy comes from water – usually from rivers or dams. The water moves turbines to create
electricity. It’s clean and powerful, but sometimes it can affect animals and plants that live in
rivers.
