fulfillment of the Philippine Governance Roadmap of the Cagayan Valley Medical Center in
the fields of Learning and Development of employees through various Training and
Research activities in the year 2023.

In the fulfillment of the DOH requirements in the License to Operate from primary to
tertiary Hospitals; the PETRU headed by the Chief Training officer, Dr. Rhoderick Ian G.
Reyes and Staff resumed the conduct of BLS/ACLS course, this is CPDAS accredited by the

The activity will resume next year to complete the competency training of the Health Care
Frontliners.

The PETRU in collaboration with the Cagayan Valley Health Research and Development
Consortium, conducted Research Capacitation Training for Medical Professionals and the
statisticians last March 21-22,2023 at Go Hotel Tuguegarao City. This is with the assistance
of Department of Science and Technology. The objective of this activity was to improve the
quality of the research output on Biostatistical and Health Research of the Resident
physicians, Pharmacists, Nurses, Physical Therapists and among others. Another important
activity in Research was Mentoring the Mentors of Research held in Blue Coast Resort in
Santa Ana last May 24 and 25, 2023. The lecturer was Dr. Jose Carlo Valencia and was
attended by the different Research Coordinators of the different departments. The
objectives were successfully met, orient and re- orient the mentors of research to do the
scientific critiquing of research outputs. Protocols and guidelines were also set and agreed
upon.
The CVMC Resident Physicians Commencement Exercises was held last April 26, 2023.
There were 32 candidates for graduation who successfully met the requirements of the
residency Training Program and were conferred by the Medical Center Chief.

The Post Graduate Interns graduation ceremony was held last August 15, 2023. There were
35 candidates who were able to comply with the requirements of the training program.

Internal Medicine (PSBIM) examination administered last March 5, 2023. It was awarded
last May 6, 2023, on the 53rd congress of the Philippine College of Physicians.

The Department of family and Community Medicine headed by Dr. Marialisa S. Dauigoy, MD
was visited by the accreditors last October 19, 2023, and the result was released last December
27, 2023. The program was given an accreditation of two years until year 2025, by the Philippine
Academy of Family Physicians, Inc. (PAFP). The conferment ceremony will be held on March 6,
2024.

Another pride of the Cagayan Valley Medical Center in the Department of Pathology headed by
Dr. Sara Jane Balisi. The two residents made it to the ELITE list in the Anatomic Pathology
during the Residents’ In-service Examination conducted by the Philippine Society of
