CURRICULUM VISION, OBJECTIVES AND COMPETENCES
Vision of Tanzania education
To empower Tanzanian with skills, knowledge and values that prepare
Tanzanian’s to become leaders and innovation and to poster critical
thinking and problem solving abilities.
Objectives of ordinary secondary education in Tanzania.
a. Develop mental wellbeing emotional intelligence and improve
self-esteem including managing relationships and stress
challenges.
b. To improve health and well-being by preserving the environment
and adopt sustainable practice such as reducing waste and using
eco-friendly resources.
c. Build a strong understanding of importance to national
development and need for their sustainable use management.
d. Strengthen communication skills through digital communication
tools also improve active participation by communicating in
community life.
e. Enhance innovation and thinking by encouraging students or
leaners to search for new ideas and express themselves through
arts, technical and scientific inquiry.
f. Develop knowledge in basic principles of business planning
financial management enabling students to employ himself or
herself.
g. Equip students in Tanzania with knowledge and skills to think
critically and solve problems preparing them for advanced
secondary education.
The general competences of ordinary secondary education.
The general competences for ordinary secondary education are to
a. Use psychological knowledge to manage positive relationships
and improve self-esteem and mental wellbeing.
b. Use the knowledge of environmental sustainability to handle
environmental conservation, recycling, reusing and deposing
wastes.
c. Use knowledge of different types of natural resources so as to
utilize them for the importance of national development and also
to understand the process of extraction of these resources.
d. Use the knowledge of language skills and communication to
effectively participate in group discussion and collaborative
tasks.
e. Apply the knowledge about existing ideas and making various
things to cope with life and solve challenges in the society.
f. Use the knowledge of entrepreneurship skills for learners to
empower themselves and be able to create and manage their
own business and employ themselves effectively.
